The Principal, Capital Markets Hedging & Execution will be pivotal in developing capital markets executions that support our long-term growth plans. You will collaborate with our current and prospective business partners to build new strategies for ZHL. These strategies will demonstrate capital markets structures to work towards our goals and gain a competitive edge. This role is responsible for managing interest rate risk and loan sale execution.

- Develop new execution options for loan and servicing sales.
- Identify arbitrage opportunities between various execution options to boost gain on sale revenue.
- Work closely with the pricing team to reflect secondary market opportunities and executions in our target profit margins.
- Evaluate existing hedging positions and provide mentorship and feedback to risk managers based on market intelligence and prior experience.
Who you are
- Capital Markets mortgage professional with 10+ years of experience, including MBS trading/investment, structured finance, and a strong track record of leadership, having led and developed a high-performing trading team for 4+ years.
- Detailed knowledge of security pricing, servicing values (released and retained), buyup/buydown grids, LLPAs, guarantee fees, and experience with a variety of executions, including whole loan best efforts, mandatory bid tape, cash window, and agency MBS securitization.
- Maintain data integrity with LOS and hedging software and ensure pricing assumptions and inputs are accurate.
- Prior experience with Compass Analytics, MIAC or QRM risk management systems for mortgage banking. Independently supervise hedging position, all trading activity, loan sales and hedging model inputs.
- Strong ability to independently build and maintain trading/hedging policies and procedures, ensuring adherence while measuring trading performance and hedge efficiency.
- Technology-focused with a proven track record to collaborate with tech teams in building automation to support business growth.
- Proficient analytical skills to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment, showcasing a dedication to achieving goals and acting promptly.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment to optimize performance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong ability to turn data into information to advise trading decisions and conversations with key internal partners as well as present to auditors/regulators.
- Independently partner with Legal to review contracts and negotiate terms for investor contracts.
- Able to establish links and collaborate across all levels of the organization as well as manage relationships with FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA and private investors (TBA trading partners, whole loan investors, etc).
- Knowledge of agency and investor guidelines, product offerings and delivery/loan sale execution.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics or Accounting preferred.
