Platform Engineer III

As our Platform Engineer III, you will bridge the gap between DevOps and platform engineering, focusing on designing, building, and maintaining scalable infrastructure and tools that empower our development teams. Each day, you will work with technologies such as GitHub Enterprise, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes, leveraging Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision resources efficiently. To thrive in this role, you must be a proactive problem-solver with a solid foundation in CI/CD using GitHub Actions, a passion for learning new technologies, and proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage platform infrastructure using Terraform to provision and maintain resources in Microsoft Azure.
- Administer and optimize GitHub Enterprise, including repository management, workflow automation, and integration with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to support automated build, test, and deployment processes.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software solutions.
- Write and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency, preferably using Python or another scripting language.
- Monitor and troubleshoot platform and infrastructure issues, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, proactively recommending and learning new tools or practices to improve our platform ecosystem.
- Document processes, configurations, and best practices to support team knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including resource provisioning and management using Terraform.
- Proficiency in managing GitHub Enterprise or similar version control systems, including workflows and actions.
- Strong experience with CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions (company standard).
- Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration of applications.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language, with a preference for Python; experience with Bash, PowerShell, or similar is a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and resolve issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively across teams and ability to adapt to new technologies in the fast-evolving software landscape.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor).
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud and DevOps environments.
