We currently have a career opportunity for a PBM Solutions Architect to join our team with a focus in Pharmacy Benefits Management and Healthcare. This role is REMOTE and candidates can be located anywhere in the continental US.
Job Overview:
The PBM Solutions Architect is expected to be knowledgeable in two or more technologies within PBM and Healthcare. The PBM Solutions Architect may or may not have a programming background, but will have expert infrastructure architecture, client presales / presentation, team management and thought leadership skills.
You will provide best-fit architectural solutions for one or more projects; you will assist in defining scope and sizing of work; and anchor Proof of Concept developments. You will provide solution architecture for the business problem, platform integration with third party services, designing and developing complex features for clients' business needs. You will collaborate with some of the best talent in the industry to create and implement innovative high quality solutions, participate in Sales and various pursuits focused on our clients' business needs.
You will also contribute in a variety of roles in thought leadership, mentorship, systems analysis, architecture, design, configuration, testing, debugging, and documentation. You will challenge your leading edge solutions, consultative and business skills through the diversity of work in multiple industry domains. This role is considered part of the Business Unit Senior Leadership team and may mentor junior architects and other delivery team members.

- Develop the PBM Transition Roadmap & Strategy, defining phases, milestones, and action plans for replacing the PBM solution while identifying short-term opportunities to leverage the existing architecture for immediate value.
- Lead Vendor Assessment & RFP Support, defining PBM-specific requirements, evaluating vendor capabilities, and providing selection recommendations.
- Own PBM Functional & Technical Requirements, ensuring alignment with business needs, documenting must-have and nice-to-have features, and mapping integration touchpoints.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture Team on Architecture & Integration Strategy, supporting the development of technical blueprints, ensuring seamless integration within member-facing applications, and documenting existing systems and dependencies.
- Drive Stakeholder Communication & Alignment, providing project status updates, leading presentations, and conducting workshops to ensure cross-team alignment on PBM transformation.
- 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a strong focus on PBM and healthcare.
- Deep expertise in PBM industry standards, including claims processing, specialty drugs, and mail-order pharmacies.
- Experience working with major healthcare payers and PBM systems.
- Strong understanding of current PBM vendors, their offerings, and functional capabilities.
- Experience in RFP creation, vendor evaluation, and selection.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with enterprise architecture teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and architectural solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Must be open to travel.

- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $92,118 to $202,730. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential equity or variable bonus programs.
