Here we grow again!  ARC Health is looking for an experienced Patient Financial Services Coordinator to join their team!  If you have strong communication skills, a compassionate approach and experience in medical billing, we want to hear from you!


  • Fully remote
  • Annual salary $55,000-$60,000/year + robust benefits package


 Patient Collections: 

  • Contact patients to collect outstanding balances after insurance payments have been processed. 
  • Arrange payment plans for patients who require more time to settle their balances. 
  • Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely payment.

Patient Communication: 

  • Communicate with patients to discuss balances and payment options. 
  • Address patient inquiries regarding their accounts, including explanations of charges and insurance payments. 
  • Provide clear and compassionate guidance to patients about their financial responsibilities. 

Payment Processing: 

  • Process payments, ensuring accurate application to patient accounts. 
  • Record payments and update patient accounts in the practice’s billing system. 
  • Generate receipts and payment confirmation letters as needed. 

Account Management: 

  • Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and payment agreements. 
  • Track and report on the status of patient balances, including payment plan compliance and delinquent accounts. 
  • Work with the billing department to resolve any discrepancies in patient accounts. 

Reporting and Follow-Up: 

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on collections activities and outcomes. 
  • Identify and escalate accounts that may require further action, such as referral to a collection’s agency. 
  • Coordinate with the billing team to ensure accurate and up-to-date account information. 

Customer Service: 

  • Provide excellent customer service by handling patient concerns and disputes professionally and empathetically. 
  • Assist patients in understanding their billing statements and insurance explanations of benefits (EOBs). 

Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing 
  • Post-secondary education or certification in healthcare billing / coding preferred. 
  • Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems. 
  • Strong understanding of patient billing and insurance processes. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy. 
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; interact positively and constructively with staff, clients, community and representatives. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 
  • Ability to abide by ethical guidelines and policies, including strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
