JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The School of Public Affairs is hiring undergraduate student workers to assist with data collection and reporting on a project related to police appearance policies.

Job Duties

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Compiling a literature review
  • Calling police departments on the telephone
  • Organizing information collected
  • Coding data
  • Analyzing results using statistical software and writing a written report detailing the findings. 
  • Students also must prepare and present a poster reporting the findings in April 2025.

 

Duration of Project: Total maximum number of work hours: 28.93 hours. 

Hourly Rate: $16.00

This opening has the potential to be performed fully remote or as a hybrid of remote and on-site working.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
