The opportunity:
This position in the National Accounts Employee Benefits Underwriting organization is responsible for all aspects of risk selection, pricing and proposal for our Group Supplemental Health new business and renewals for 2,000+ lives. In this role, you will apply standard underwriting principles and procedures to evaluate, rate and negotiate prices on new business. In addition, you will apply in depth knowledge of assigned product lines and independent decision making within underwriting policies and procedures.
How you will contribute:
Evaluate, price, propose rate and strategy to acquire and renew National Account clients.
In-depth risk assessment and pricing of prospective and inforce customers in conformance with underwriting guidelines and authority limits
Provide Customer reporting and analytics.
Partner with sales, national accounts practice leader and home office subject matter experts to develop comprehensive pricing and solutions for our customers.
Recommend changes in policies and procedures to be more responsive to the emerging client and market needs.
Proactively manage inforce block of business to maintain profit and persistency expectations.
Mentoring and underwriter development
What you will bring with you:
Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
BA/BS degree preferred.
Require a minimum of 7+ years of group underwriting experience.
Highly skilled in both written and verbal communications, organization, time/work management, establishing interpersonal relationships, and problem solving.
