Position Summary

The Mortgage Product Resource Specialist plays an important role in the origination by working with Credit Risk in performing several activities related to the company’s product resource functions. The role is primarily responsible, under intermittent supervision, for creating and maintaining an up-to date product resources related to product summaries, underwriting guidelines, and change information, and for serving as a key point-of-contact and point-of-support for loan product and guideline information.

Essential Functions

  • Provide knowledge support to the SVP and Director of Credit Risk as needed; act as a key point- of-contact for questions related to loan products and guidelines.
  • Monitor investor guideline announcements and updates in order to stay up to date on any changes, assist with the implementation of any necessary changes related to the updates.
  • Assist SVP and Director of Credit Risk in maintenance of product summaries, worksheets, and underwriting guidelines for GSE, HUD, VA, USDA, Jumbo and other specialty mortgage products.
  • Assist with managing the communication of any product and/or guideline changes to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and production to facilitate any necessary guideline change requests; provide recommendations to changes in practice or procedures accordingly.
  • Assist in the facilitation of meetings related to guideline changes, prepare presentations and deliverables accordingly.
  • Assist SVP and Director Credit Risk with developing training content related to products, guidelines, and/or new technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent, required. 
    • Minimum five years' experience in mortgage underwriting related roles.
    • Ability to work well independently or within a team.
    • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
    • Ability to think strategically and deliver executable plans to achieve overall goals.
    • Possess a high level of discipline with learning new concepts and adapts well to changes.
    • Excellent time management and project management skills.
    • Expert-level understanding of the intricacies of GSE, FHA, VA, USDA, Agency and/or private correspondent mortgage investors, including non-agency and mortgage insurance.
    • Passionate about delivering excellence in customer service within a team environment.
    • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications required.

    Supervision

    Requirements

    Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.

    Manual Dexterity: Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards

     

    Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio, e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

    Environmental: Office environment – moderate noise, no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

    Mental: Ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.

    Schedules: Work is primarily performed during the business week, Monday - Friday.

    Targeted Salary Range: $28/hr - $39/hr

    Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.
