The Role

The Sales Operations Manager is a key role providing support for the HOKA brand. The Sales Operations Manager is responsible for the maintenance and implementation of Sales Operations processes to strategically establish methods of best practice and ensure the smooth execution of day-to-day operations. This position will work closely with internal and external teams (including U.S. Sales, Sales Operations, Customer Experience, Credit, Supply/Demand Planning, Master Data Management, Customer Compliance, Finance, Legal and Distribution) to ensure effective and consistent communication flow between departments, accurate and timely seasonal setup and effective Sales/Sales Management tools and support.

Your Impact

Develops and maintains professional relationships to ensure an effective working partnership with all levels of the organization in the following cross-functional teams: sales management, sales reps, credit, customer experience, merchandising, product creation teams, marketing, Customer Compliance, Master Data Management, legal and integrated planning teams. They will also build external relationships with Deckers partners and consultants, always representing the company in a positive and supportive manner.

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

1. Marketplace Management:

  • Manages order book auditing, ensuring SOX compliance and approved discount structures are in place.
  • Oversees that the Marketplace guidelines, Sales Collateral and Sales Battle Book are updated as needed (at minimum seasonally).
  • Responsible for managing and executing the MAP policy. Effectively communicate all MAP updates, and manage MAP monitoring platform, as MAP Compliance Officer (owner of the process and platform).
  • Owns and manages 3P marketplace policy.
  • Owns and manages counter diversion.
  • Build and manage promotions.
  • Responsible for auditing marketplace planning strategy, such as segmentation and allocation.
  • Responsible for overseeing all auxiliary marketplace tools that may be Deckers owned or required by our wholesale partners.
  • Responsible for line change communication and downstream execution.
  • Manages brand conference support.
  • Travel to tradeshows for set up, work, teardown; travel to work events; travel to territories and/or key account visits for support and insights.
  • Manages setup of returns and cancellation workflows in B2B systems, adhering to approved matrix.

2. Maximize Employee Performance:

  • Responsible for training all new team members, as well as onboarding new sales reps.
  • Responsible for training sales team on all new systems, reporting or system upgrades.
  • Oversees seasonal set up, including support for the sales meetings.
  • Manage effective cross-departmental communications process to ensure support for the sales force, wholesale accounts and regional partners, working toward integrated and effective solutions.
  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Sales and Sales Operations responsibilities, including best practices across brands and regions. This will also include the ownership of monthly COE best practices meetings
  • Develop and maintain Monday.com boards with SOPs, and ensure team follow-through on usage.
  • In conjunction with Sr. Sales Operations Manager, provide best-in-class communication of information to Sales team.

3. Sales Process Optimization:

  • Responsible for all systems management and ownership.
  • Works closely with Sr. Director, Sales Operations, Sr. Manager, Sales Operations and cross-functional partners, specifically IT, to continuously re-evaluate, create and implement sales tools.
  • Analyzes and activates improvements to internal processes and procedures to drive continuous improvements based on internal and external feedback and needs.
  • In conjunction with Sr. Sales Operations Manager, manages the complexities of all wholesale customers across all channels the brand sells. Manage the special needs of key accounts, which includes management of EDI, Special VAS, Drop Ship, Direct Ship seasonal set ups, etc. Maintains the customer matrix that houses all of this information.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, merchandising, finance and IT to align processes and ensure seamless operations.
  • Oversee ordering, organization and disposition of seasonal sample sets.
  • Responsible to oversee Service Requests, including effectiveness, approval matrix workflows, responsive follow-through, and training the teams on process.

4. Team Leaders:

  • Organizes and leads team meetings, as well as regular 1:1 meetings and quarterly check-ins.
  • Responsible to build and maintain documentation and communication for team responsibilities.
  • Builds action plans for goals for the team.
  • Develop direct reports, based on job role, individual talents, departmental and Brand needs. Support internal career path and development.
  • Is a leader across the org with cross functional partners.

The successful candidate will have a Customer Service focused attitude, be highly detail oriented and be comfortable juggling multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines and being able to function in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment of operational excellence. The Sales Operations Manager should be a motivated self-starter looking to take the lead with a big picture approach to problem solving and driving teams toward results.

We’d love to hear from people with

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years similar experience (sales operations, customer service, etc.)
  • Experience in a support and/or supervisor position within a wholesale environment, including experience leading projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience assigning, prioritizing, and evaluating work, as well as mentoring a team
  • Experience working effectively in complex global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications – Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Experience managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience successfully managing others to deliver exceptional attention to detail
  • Some experience in Adobe and/or Tableau helpful but not critical

$90,000 - $100,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
