Responsibilities

We are seeking a dynamic sales and business development professional who will help accelerate our commercial growth through channel partnerships. Reporting to the Director of Channel Sales, you will:

  • Research, recruit and help train new partners

  • Manage assigned Reseller partners, helping them position Mainspring in their on-site energy projects

  • Support partners in customer meetings, trade shows and other forums, as a Mainspring representative and subject matter expert

  • Drive pipeline development, tracking and reporting

  • Contribute to the Channel team’s quarterly and annual sales targets

  • Support your partners’ projects by working cross-functionally with internal product, engineering and analytics teams

  • Build long-term relationships with partners by supporting their success in deploying Mainspring and proactively identifying their needs throughout the deal cycle

  • Be a key member of a growing Channel team, using your experience and insights to constantly improve and refine our processes and positioning

Qualifications

  • Positive attitude, willingness to take initiative, accountable, and able to communicate across departments with the drive to get the deal done and put the customer first.

  • At least 10 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in the energy industry. Preference given to sales experience with distributed generation products and/or systems in the commercial & industrial space (e.g., generators, solar, batteries, EV charging or energy software or consulting services)

  • Bachelor’s degree required; product or engineering background preferred; MBA preferred

  • Demonstrated success in achieving quota

  • Experience discussing project finance concepts (IRR, NPV, pre-tax vs. after-tax, etc.)

  • Ability to multitask and work in a high-growth environment, with strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills

The Bay Area salary for this role is $132k-$155k base + bonus + pre-IPO stock options + benefits. This position is remote. The salary will be adjusted to reflect local market conditions based on employee location as well as the experience of the employee.

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
