Role Summary
Rowan Digital Infrastructure is seeking a Manager, Business Development, to help grow our business by forging long-term partnerships with hyperscale data center customers. In this high-impact role, you will work directly with the world’s leading technology companies to originate, structure, and negotiate long-term lease agreements that enable the deployment of mission-critical infrastructure.
The ideal candidate brings proven experience building trusted, strategic customer relationships and structuring bespoke commercial agreements for large-scale IT infrastructure projects. You combine commercial acumen with deep knowledge of the data center ecosystem.
Travel: Ability to travel up to (30%) for company gatherings and customer meetings
Location: Denver, CO or Seattle, WA
Compensation: $130-$165K - Offers Bonus
Essential Responsibilities
Partner closely with customers to understand their infrastructure strategies and long-term capacity planning needs—translating those into creative, executable commercial solutions
Originate, structure, and negotiate long-term lease agreements for hyperscale data centers that support customers’ mission-critical technical and business objectives
Represent Rowan with clarity and credibility across the industry, including at customer meetings, conferences, and industry forums
Act as the voice of the customer within Rowan—ensuring their evolving priorities are reflected in how we shape our products, projects, and timelines
Collaborate with internal teams—especially site origination, energy, development, legal and delivery—to align lease strategy with execution, ensuring cohesive, cross-functional support from early-stage engagement through contract signing
Develop and present compelling business cases for complex transactions to Rowan’s senior leadership, including C-suite decision-makers
Education, Skills, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (engineering, business, construction management, real estate)
MBA or other relevant graduate degree (preferred)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing and negotiating commercial agreements that support infrastructure delivery, ideally for large-scale, customer-specific projects
Demonstrated expertise in long-term leasing, build-to-suit development, or similar commercial constructs for technical real estate
Preferred: Experience working for or with hyperscale data center customers, including co-location and cloud companies
Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy—taking ownership of deals from origination through execution while thoughtfully aligning internal teams and external stakeholders
Proven ability to manage complex deals across multiple workstreams, thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments, and communicate effectively across technical and executive audiences
