Lead Unaccompanied Children Specialist
Nationwide Remote Office (US99)
ICF is seeking a Lead Unaccompanied Children Specialist to work on national technical assistance projects. Projects will support the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and other federal offices whose programming serves vulnerable communities, including unaccompanied children and their families. The Lead Unaccompanied Children Specialist will use their expertise as part of teams and across all tasks related to the effective implementation of programs.
The successful candidate has demonstrated knowledge of ORR, unaccompanied children, and the services and systems that support them. The Lead Unaccompanied Children Specialist will work closely with and under the oversight of project directors and across all project teams to execute strategies intentionally, and with culturally and linguistically competent and trauma-informed approaches. The successful candidate will have an ability to partner with the client and customers, as well as project teams across the organization, in the development and implementation of procedures and processes related to project operations, goals, evaluation, participant recruitment and engagement, intake, analysis, and reporting. They will also be responsible for the delivery of timely and high-quality work products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the effective and efficient delivery of project deliverables across project teams.
- Contribute to and review all operations, products, and procedures to ensure a cultural and linguistic perspective throughout all the tasks, services, and products including overall contract management, recruitment and hiring, CQI and evaluation, and marketing and dissemination
- Provide a holistic approach to cultural and linguistic competence materials for project teams, clients, and customers updates and other external reporting.
- Serve on project management teams as needed to support project goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, public administration, communications, public relations, or related field which requires an understanding of written communication.
- A minimum of 10 years professional and project leadership experience, including coordinating projects, tasks, deliverables, and reporting
- Lived experience as a refugee, unaccompanied child or in other human serving systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of Unaccompanied Children, ORR, and citizenship/legal issues.
- Understanding of clinical approaches to trauma
- Master’s degree in social work, public administration, communications, public relations, or related field which requires an understanding of written communication.

- Solid team player with proven ability to manage competing priorities, perspectives and stakeholder needs. Exceptional project coordination skills, with a focus on TA project coordination.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment. Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated outstanding level of professionalism in providing client and customer support, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact and diplomacy.
- Proficient with MS office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
