About the team:

At Payrix, we are a global team of passionate client-facing, financial services, and technology experts. We provide vertical software companies with an all-in-one platform and white-label implementation approach to capitalize on the opportunities for growth, innovation, and transformation within embedded payments.

What you’ll own:

  • Evaluate current documentation for accuracy, effectiveness, and relevance.

  • Handle incoming assignments and take on or delegate the ones that don’t fit neatly into any category, through consultations with your manager.

  • Reach out to gather all the information needed for the writing team’s success, with your manager’s guidance and direction, across multiple departments.

  • Along with your manager and other writers, interact with customer-facing teams to understand customer needs and pain points.

  • Develop documentation plans and optimize content for cloud, mobile, and search engines.

  • Provide feedback on features, functionality, and UI/UX.

  • Align with Product and Engineering to prioritize and match content with upcoming releases.

  • Follow style guidelines and maintain high standards for your content while welcoming feedback and sharing writing style and tone updates with the rest of the writing team.

  • Create engaging diagrams and other content to explain concepts and workflows; convert some diagrams to animations; create useful videos as well.

  • Build relationships across the organization and leverage those relationships for the benefit of users and for Worldpay/Payrix revenue, with direction and guidance from your manager.

  • Be creative, focused, and forward thinking to help make our documentation the best in the field!

What you bring:

  • 10+ years of Technical Writing experience.

  • A member of a successful technical writing department as a lead or senior technical writer.

  • Team focus, cross-team cooperation; success orientation; customer joy.

  • Support of minimalistic approach to documentation: clean and simple initial instructions that enable the user to dig deeper as needed.

  • Training as a technical writer, with lead experience, with the ability to evaluate content on accuracy, usability, and relevance, and current or outdated status.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; ideally, an MA degree in Technical Writing/Documentation.

  • Ability to create content from scratch as well as dramatically improve existing documentation.

  • Understanding of API usage, functionality, and code details.

  • Familiar with coding languages, such as YAML, JSON, JavaScript, and python as well as OpenAI/Swagger familiarity

  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality documentation directly without missing a single milestone & deadline; ideally experienced with Agile methodology.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Experience with workflows and tools used by engineering, operations, and product teams.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.

  • Familiarity with web technologies and content creation tools.

  • Strong background in financial software solutions, financial apps, and SaaS.

  • Positive team attitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with Agile development and tools such as Confluence and Jira.

  • Experience using CCMS tools, taxonomy, content variables, SEO, data analytics, and other key tools to guarantee success.

  • Experience interacting with users, customers, partners, support agents, and stakeholders to build the most important documentation with the most accurate content, delivered on-time, every time.

Desired Experience (not required):

  • Comfortable with REST and Java APIs, Git, Agile, Confluence, and tools such as Jira.

  • Write using XML/DITA, Markdown, minimalism, and so on.

  • Use of HTTP clients like Postman to test API queries.

  • Familiarity with API-focused documentation tools such as ReadMe and APIMatic.

  • Familiarity with code examples in languages like Java, JavaScript, JSON, YAML, PHP, and Ruby.

  • Know your way around HTML, CSS, Markdown, Git, and support systems like Zendesk.

  • Have some knowledge of databases like Postgres, MySQL, noSQL, or MongoDB.

  • Familiar with CI/CD models for DevOps as well as data analysis tools like Google Analytics and Tableau.

  • Engage with various stakeholders across the company, customers, and open-source communities.

  • Understand project management, and team management concepts.

  • Experience and understanding of standard documentation tools such as Document360, Confluence, Madcap Flare, Paligo, and others.

Worldpay is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $102,560.00 - $172,280.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
