Job Description Summary
The Lead Technical Trainer is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, customer education, and other engagements at a Viega Experience Center (VEC). This position encompasses oversight of training programs, facility management, tours, and events to ensure a seamless and impactful customer experience. Interacts with a variety of customers – including owners, engineers, contractors, distributors, installers, and trade students – to deliver tailored education and foster an engaging adult learning environment.

Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site tours and trainings for Viega customers and flex content and style appropriately to ensure training material is prepared and customized according to the target audience.
- Facilitate training sessions utilizing hands on activities, learning displays, online job aides and PowerPoint presentations.
- Manage customer relationships during and after training courses to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Able to explain and demonstrate expert knowledge in all Viega systems and applications, articulate company services, and offer Viega solutions to customer problems.
- Able to talk about a variety of aspects of the industry such as business skills, supply chain, sales, design, construction processes, etc.
- Able to speak in general terms and detailed technical terms, all within the same presentation.
- Responsible for overseeing the customer experience at the location assigned and collaborating with Viega field sales or other SMEs to provide a best-in-class training experience.
- Proactively stays at the forefront of the industry; references relevant studies, articles, and white papers to bolster Viega competitive positioning.
- Available as a backup to support in-person customer education at other Viega Seminar Centers, Viega Experience Centers, Trade Shows, or travel events.
- Supports the local sales team with special events held at the location they are assigned, or out in the field.
- Manages inventory of training materials, tools, and equipment, at the location they are assigned, ensuring availability and functionality.
- Maintains Viega workshops, tools, and displays for optimal operation and utilization during training sessions.
- Reports facility utilization metrics to Training Leadership and explores new methods of engagement to encourage building utilization.
- Design and constructs piping displays as required for training sessions or promotional purposes.
- Independently manages a comprehensive schedule while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
- Collaborates with external vendors to ensure deliverables meet Viega’s quality standards and specifications.
- Assists with classroom preparation and cleanup.
- Required to travel up to 20% of the time.

Required Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in the use of common office equipment and software – including: computers, printers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Ability to explain complex concepts to diverse adult learners in an engaging, entertaining, and informative manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively partner with key stakeholders and tactfully exercise influence across the organization
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Effectively manages multiple tasks and priorities
- Exceptional written, verbal, and listening communication skills, ability to effectively engage with stakeholders in all levels of the organization.
- Outstanding presentation, public speaking, instruction, and training skills, with an emphasis on delivering impactful and professional sessions.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, develops effective solutions to challenges.
- Excellent troubleshooting and decision-making skills, ensuring quick and accurate resolution of issues.
- Ability to deliver exceptional service while maintaining a positive company image and positive attitude in all interactions.
- Effectively leads and motivates employees
- Bilingual skills (French Canadian or Spanish, depending on location) preferred
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5-7 years related industry experience - preferably as a plumber, pipefitter, HVAC technician or working directly for Viega - required
- Previous work experience in training, showroom, sales, or related experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree or Trade School Completion preferred.

Total Rewards Package:
Compensation
- Base: $97,000 to $126,000 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
- Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
