Clinical Operations in our Company Research Labs IT supports clinical trial operations, execution, and management. Our IT team operates as a partner proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new capabilities and drive efficiencies in our clinical trials.

For this position, Trial Site Monitoring is seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to drive, oversee, and lead the development and maintenance of our clinical trial risk management applications. This role demans a blend of leadership, technical experience, and a thorough understanding of of clinical trial data workflows. The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in data integration, ETLs, cloud technologies, and data modeling.

Responsibilities:

The Trial Site Monitoring Technical Lead works collaboratively with the Product Manager and Product Line Technical Lead to ensure development standards are adhered to, provides leadership to developers, and that our technical solutions are aligned to the IT strategic roadmap and are always modernized and streamlined for efficiency. This role has overall responsibility for system design, overseeing development, ongoing maintenance, and updating of complex technical solutions leveraging modern technical capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers, ensuring adherence to Agile, GxP, and SDLC processes.

  • Architect and oversee the development of data pipelines using a tech stack that includes DBT, Databricks, Airflow, AWS, and Mulesoft

  • Design and optimize data models and canonical schemas to support dynamic business needs across clinical, regulatory, and commercial domains

  • Use DevSecOps and CI/CD principles and methodologies to ensure the security and efficiency of data operations

  • Proactively identify and resolve technical and operational issues, enhance data quality and system performance

  • Drives scoping, system requirements, and prioritization activities for large, complex initiatives

  • Leverages business and user insights to help inform solutions ideas and prioritization decisions to deliver valuable products

  • Promote and facilitate the adoption of data products, tools, and best practices across various teams.

  • Works closely with Product Line Lead(s), Product Manager(s), User(s), Technical Lead(s), Solution Architect(s) and other Product/Business Analyst(s) in creating, prioritizing and executing against product backlog and for ensuring that quality solutions are designed and delivered to realize business value

  • Applies a structured approach to discover, document, and manage the business process, user, and stakeholder needs, including opportunity statements, use cases, insights, and requirement

Prerequisites:

  • 6 years in Information Technology

  • 3 years in Clinical Trial software experience

  • Expertise in AWS services (S3, Glue, EMR, Athena, Lambda)
