The role
We are looking for a credible and proactive IT Project Manager to join the Solutions, Development and Delivery team to manage and successfully deliver multiple key external facing digital/software development projects.

As one of three IT Project Managers reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will join a friendly and supportive team that delivers and drives the organisation’s commitment to change and continuous improvement.

Working with teams across the organisation, you will manage the full project lifecycle. Using your knowledge and experience you will follow processes, manage governance and risk to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of IT projects within budget and time restraints.   

Developing good business relationships is key for this role. Using your excellent relationship management skills, you will liaise with project sponsors to agree project deliverables, timings, and expected benefits. As a competent negotiator with the ability to influence others, you will build and develop project teams and be comfortable matrix managing conflict and performance when needed. You will build joint working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels to align the elements of the project.

To succeed in, and most importantly enjoy this job, you will be a proactive planner who looks and thinks ahead to creatively solve problems and be a confident communicator, who can clearly tailor communications in an appropriate way to people at all levels of the organisation.

What we are looking for:

  • A team-orientated individual who can provide clear direction to groups or individuals to achieve the project objectives and outputs
  • Professional qualification of Project management including Prince2, Agile PM, APMP, or any other equivalent qualification
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders with competing deadlines and priorities
  • Experience of creating and effectively managing project plans, alongside risks and issues
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills - to manage own time, work effectively with minimum supervision and plan the work of the project team
  • Experience of managing external consultants/suppliers under a statement of works (SoW) and/or call-off frameworks.
