Alpha Omega is seeking a qualified ISSO. The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) demands business insight; technical acuity; and the ability to think, communicate and write at various levels of abstraction. The ISSO will be responsible for interacting with internal Security and Privacy teams as well as Product teams and provide subject matter expertise and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- 4 - 6 years of relevant experience.
- Cloud based security control implementation at the FISMA Moderate impact level.
- Cloud based security control implementation at the FISMA
- Partners with cloud architects to ensure solutions meet NIST SP800-53r5, Department of Commerce policy and NOAA
- Research and responds to security incidents partnering with OAR ISSO, OAR ITSO, NOAA SOC and OAR Cloud Admin
- Develop, document and implement cloud security solutions that effectively reduce OAR security risk while enabling platform cloud support for OAR labs and programs.
- Document any necessary SOPs, artifacts, process or data flows for inclusion in the system security plan (SSP)
- Acts as a subject matter expert for cloud security for NOAA Research consolidated AWS cloud boundary.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify, resolve, and mitigate security issues in Indeed’s systems and processes.
- Perform analysis of transactional data, log files and/or other system outputs to identify malicious or anomalous activity.
- Stay up to date with trends in the information security community including new vulnerabilities, methodologies, and products.
- Providing guidance to our DevOps teams developing on public Cloud platforms Develop, update and maintain standard operating procedures and other technical documentation for both client and internal operations, responding to and resolving situations caused by network attacks.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Security, Information Systems.
Experience/Skills:
- At least one (2) years of experience with Vulnerability Management tools and processes (preferably AWS Inspector).
- Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Security: 3 or more years of relevant experience
- Proficient understanding of AWS Native Security tools (Trusted Advisor, S3)
- Strong and effective verbal and communications skills
