We are seeking a student to start in the summer and continue through the next academic year. The intern would be able to work up to 15 hours per week during the semester and up to 30 hours per week during the summer, between Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours are flexible to ensure the student’s education remains a top priority.
Salary/Wage Range:

1Position Summary/Job Duties:
At WiSys, we help bring innovations from universities to the marketplace through research development support, intellectual property protection, and grant programs.
Student interns will work with the Intellectual Property and Licensing team to support Universities of Wisconsin faculty, staff, students, and alumni in pursuit of expanding their research programs, furthering their discoveries, and commercializing their innovations. Students will learn about intellectual property, market research, licensing, and commercialization. Experience gained from the internship will help prepare students for positions in non-profit organizations, industry, and higher education.

- Assist with various IP and licensing related tasks
- Conduct market research and analyses on selected innovations
- Assist with management and tracking of events and programs
- Production of materials for internal and public presentation
- Other tasks to support the staff as needed
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a student majoring in the STEM disciplines, social sciences, and/or business and possess some of the following skills:
- Familiarity with and interest in university research
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams
- Excellent communications skills
- Skilled in working both independently and in cooperation with others
- Ability to organize, manage and prioritize multiple, competing tasks
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
