Job Summary
The Instructional Designer & Facilitator will play a dual role in creating engaging, high-quality learning experiences and delivering dynamic training sessions. This role is responsible for designing instructional materials that meet the needs of learners and business objectives, as well as facilitating workshops, courses, and training programs. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in both curriculum design and instructional delivery, with a passion for fostering learning and development.
Candidates must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time. East Coast residency is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Design:
- Analyze learning needs and partner with stakeholders to identify training goals and objectives.
- Develop and design engaging training programs, curricula, learning modules, and resources (e-learning, classroom, blended).
- Utilize instructional design models such as ADDIE or SAM to create structured, learner-centric experiences.
- Design materials that are accessible and inclusive, aligning with best practices in adult learning theory.
- Create multimedia elements (videos, quizzes, infographics) and collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy.
- Evaluate and revise instructional materials based on feedback and evolving business needs.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Facilitation:
- Lead training sessions, workshops, and seminars for diverse audiences, both in-person and virtually.
- Facilitate interactive learning experiences, ensuring learner engagement and participation.
- Adapt facilitation style to suit different learning environments (individuals, small groups, large groups).
- Assess participant learning and provide feedback to enhance understanding and retention.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure training aligns with strategic business goals and competencies.
Assessment & Evaluation:
- Use assessments and feedback to measure the effectiveness of instructional content and facilitation methods.
- Implement continuous improvement processes based on evaluation data to enhance learning outcomes.
- Maintain a strong understanding of emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and training facilitation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Training, Human Resources, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in instructional design and facilitation.
- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (Articulate 360 preferred) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with virtual training platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.).
- Certification in training or instructional design (e.g., CPLP, ATD) is a plus.
