Drive business growth by understanding customer needs, providing technical solutions and effectively articulating the value of our products or services. Effectively communicate technical information to customers and help with developing and maintaining strong trust and relationships with institutional consultants at large-to-mega plan sponsors. Support sales efforts in the institutional consultant, aggregator and direct to plan distribution channels by leveraging advanced technical expertise and strong sales acumen. Partner closely with the strategy team, distribution, institutional and large/mega plan customers, asset management and managed account partner’s technical and sales teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet complex customer needs and contribute to business growth. This role requires understanding intricate technical details of our products, how they are priced and managed, and ways to integrate them in plans, demonstrating product value, and fostering long-term customer relationships. This role will also be responsible as a liaise with the actuarial support dedicated to Employer Markets.

 

What you do:

Technical Leadership:

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for the sales team and key customers regarding product features and pricing.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance with the Employer Markets dedicated actuarial support.
  • Develop and deliver complex product demonstrations and presentations.

Sales Strategy & Support:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategic account plans.
  • Engage in consultative selling to understand customer challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Assists in the preparation of detailed sales proposals, RFP responses, thought leadership whitepapers and technical product documentation.

Customer Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level stakeholders, including customers, partners and internal teams.
  • Conduct technical discovery sessions to gather customer requirements and provide insights.
  • Provide post-sales support and ensure successful implementation and adoption of solutions.

Solution Design & Implementation:

  • Design and architect complex and personalized technical solutions that align with customer needs and business goals.
  • Ensure solutions are technically sound, scalable, and feasible.
  • Collaborate with the actuarial product development team to relay customer feedback and influence product roadmaps.

Market & Product Expertise:

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.
  • Provide thought leadership and contribute to the continuous improvement of sales processes and methodologies.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows and conferences.

What you bring:

  • 6-7 years of experience required; 6+ years of experience in actuarial, technical sales, product development, institutional consulting or a sales engineering role, preferable in the defined benefit or defined contribution industry.
  • Demonstrated deep technical knowledge of insurance products and their underlying pricing.
  • Proven track record of developing innovative product concepts/solutions or supporting sales teams to help close deals in a complex technical environment.
  • Four-year degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related technical field.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Enrolled Actuary or equivalent.

 

Base Salary Range $128,000 - $160,000

Actual base salary may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program. 

Willingness to travel domestically up to 50% of the time.  Limited international travel may occur.
