Job Description

A day in the life:

Under limited supervision, the Consultant I is responsible for providing coaching and oversight to adjusters regarding use of and payments to general contractors and Allstate preferred vendors via the Good Hands Repair Network and Alacrity. The individual reviews, analyzes, and processes mitigation and general contractor bills for payment. This person may be asked to provide  guidance and oversight to employees of first- and third-party property claims and support Claims leaders to ensure consistency and objectivity in our claim handling. This person may be asked to conduct quality reviews for appropriate coverage and subrogation investigation, damage determination and estimation, and compliance with claim processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations, and decision-making process
  • Summarizes documents and enters into claim system notes
  • Analyzes mitigation bills to assess appropriateness of charges and detect duplicate billings
  • Develops, manages, and audits relationships with mitigation vendors in the Allstate preferred vendor network and Alacrity
  • Analyzes usage of mitigation vendors and identifies ways to improve usage and vendor partnerships Reinspects or reviews vendor mitigation estimates, makes corrections, and mitigation recommendations and determines correct settlement amounts

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Insurance, restoration or mitigation experience
  • 3- 5 years relevant property experience
  • Have prior experience using estimating software like Xactimate
  • Value providing an effortless customer service experience
  • You enjoy the ability to work independently starting your day from home.
  • View problems and setbacks as opportunities for improvement and look forward to coming up with creative solutions
  • Are organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Are known for clear and professional communication – both written and verbal

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This job does not have supervisory duties.

Notice of Licensing Requirement:

  • As a condition of employment, your office/area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or an appraiser license which includes passing an additional background check with the Department of Labor. If applicable, you will be required to secure license(s) within 60 days of hire.
  • If required, the Hiring Manager will work with you along with the Centralized Licensing team to ensure that you are properly licensed.

Sign On Bonus:

  • You may be eligible for a $1000 Licensing Sign on Bonus if you have the applicable active licenses needed for this role.  This could include Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or applicable Appraiser License.

**Current employees or candidates who have previously worked for Allstate, including its family of companies, are not eligible for this sign-on bonus.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $47,440.00 - 81,902.50 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
