Get to Know the Opportunity:
The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing and implementing an organization's technical infrastructure. Designing and implementing physical and virtual server infrastructures. Developing disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure systems. Provides overall direction and leadership to a major IT function, and establishes organizational policy and decision making. Directs multiple units of IT Professionals, by implementing effective and efficient organizational structures. Member of the management team reporting to an IT or Line Executive. Shares direct responsibility for overall IT results with peer IT Leaders.

Technical Expertise: A deep understanding of technology and the ability to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in the field is essential for an infrastructure architect.
Business Acumen: Infrastructure architects must have a strong understanding of the organization’s goals, priorities, and overall strategy. This helps them design and implement technology solutions that align with the business and meet its needs.
Communication: Infrastructure architects must be able to communicate technical concepts and ideas to non-technical stakeholders. Being able to communicate effectively with team members, clients, and vendors is crucial for success.
Project Management: Infrastructure architects often work on large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders. The ability to manage timelines, budgets, and resources is essential.
Problem Solving: Infrastructure architects must be able to identify problems and develop creative solutions to solve them. This requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Collaboration: Infrastructure architects must work closely with other team members, including programmers, developers, and project managers. The ability to collaborate effectively and work well with others is essential.
- Establishes the appropriate work environment, structures, and processes to ensure that overall quality goals are established, monitored, and satisfied for all work activities.
- Established the appropriate financial management metrics to ensure that departmental, unit, and project based financial plans are proactively monitored, managed and reported.
- Partners with critical business and IT areas to ensure that all projects/efforts are adequately defined, managed, and completed; achieving the shared business and IT objectives
- Accountable for final administrative and operational decisions for an IT department; supervise development and approval of business plans and budgets prepared by subordinate managers.
- Critical member of the IT executive team in formulation of Voya’s IT strategy and plans. Responsible for ensuring development and management of all employees in the IT department.

Some of your key roles and responsibilities as an Infrastructure Architect include:
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a directly related field; Master's Degree preferred.
- Fifteen+ years of progressively responsible IT experience, including 10 years in IT management.
- Strong financial and organizational management experience (managing 100+ staff organizations, with $7m + operating budget).
- Strong understanding of financial service and insurance business and technologies.
- Designing and implementing IT infrastructure solutions that meet the organization’s business needs
- Ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the organization’s IT infrastructure
- Developing and maintaining IT infrastructure policies and procedures
- Collaborating with other IT professionals, such as software developers and network engineers, to ensure the integration of IT infrastructure solutions
- Providing technical support and guidance to other IT professionals
- Significant experience in multiple areas of IT field, including new computing architectures, systems support strategies, IT Services and/or process and project methodologies.
- Demonstrated success in project management and execution involving multiple major projects or a substantial record of success delivering complex IT services to a diverse clientele.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:
Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.
The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
