A Little Bit About the Position


Join Gemini as an In-House Voucher Counselor, where you’ll play a crucial role in supporting injured workers through the Supplemental Job Displacement Benefit (SJDB) process. You’ll collaborate with Case Specialists, the Operations Manager, and external partners to ensure timely and effective service delivery. From conducting the voucher intake process to reviewing case files and resolving escalated concerns, your expertise will help ensure smooth transitions and compliance with regulations. You’ll also contribute to the team’s success by staying current on industry updates and training staff on best practices.


As a subject matter expert, you’ll lead by example, maintaining high ethical standards while promoting continuous learning within the team. Your role will also involve identifying industry trends, delivering training sessions, and fostering collaboration across departments to maintain operational excellence.   • Location: Remote (must reside in California)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm 
  • Compensation: $70,000-$94,000/yearly

Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in related field required
  • 3+ years of full-time experience in conducting vocational evaluations, counseling and placement of disabled adults
  • Vocational and Return-to-Work Counselor (VRTWC) Certification and Accreditation preferred
  • Previous legal experience is preferred but not required
  • Thorough understanding of workers’ compensation regulations, codes and guidelines as they pertain to vocational rehabilitation and the overall industry
  • Industry knowledge and strong relationships with all pertinent parties in the workers' compensation realm
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual or multilingual language capabilities a definite plus
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the SJDB industry and operational processes
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis of issues as they arise to cultivate a problem-solving culture
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational and workload planning skills
  • Strong self-management with the ability to work independently and within a team
  • Self-motivation and strong work ethic
  • Demonstrate exceptional presentation skills
  • Proficiency in using office software, business phone systems, video conferencing, and other computer programs, including Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail, etc.)
  • Skilled at using data and analytics to forecast, drive results, make decisions and provide product improvement to increase sales performance
  • Demonstrate professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully meeting sales goals 
  • Exceptional teamwork skills
  • Must pass pre-employment screening

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS


Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation, to include:

  • Lifting, bending, standing, climbing or walking while carrying out assigned duties
  • Sitting for at least one hour at a time (total: 4-6 hours/day)
  • Keyboarding for extended periods of time (total: 2-4 hours/day)
  • Using a phone with or without a headset for extended periods (total: 3-5 hours/day)
  • Sitting and/or driving for extended periods of time, up to 4-6 hours in a day and up to 250-300 miles per day 
  • Traveling to and from law offices <15 minutes at a time, multiples times throughout the day
