Your Impact

As Import Compliance Manager, you will oversee Axon remains adherent with and prepared for evolving Trade Compliance regulations. Particular focus will be with the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) import regulations and other international Customs bodies as necessary. Your role will help to identify and ensure ongoing scalable solutions while simultaneously empowering a global team of Import Specialist employees.


What You’ll Do

Location: Remote and Office Optional, Salaried with expected M-F standard business hours
Reports to: Director, Global Trade and Product Compliance
Direct Reports: 1-2 Import Compliance Specialists

  • Direct leadership over a small but growing global team of import Compliance specialists
  • Oversight of Axon’s Import Compliance program, entailing
    • Recordkeeping/Database management
    • Regulatory adherence and correspondence with regulators
    • Coordination with Axon’s Supply Chain, Sales and Product leadership
  • Identification and project management of SOPs to improve Axon’s import compliance adherence while also preparing for increased future regulatory and volume demands
  • Reporting into Axon Compliance leadership with regular communications to stakeholders on state of Import status
  • Gap assessments, audits, and corrective future actions to redress – including with future team expansions, both with specialization and geographically

 

What You Bring

  • 5+ Years Customs experience (import/export)
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication
  • Familiarity with relevant trade regulatory programs;
    • Export Administration Regulations (EAR/Dept of Commerce)
    • International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR/Dept of State)
    • Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
    • Global arms regulation space (e.g. UK Section 5, Germany BAFA, etc.)
  • Multi-national supply chain experience; multiple origin and destination points coverage
  • Cloud-based data management and project coordination skillset
  • Nice to have: Licensed Broker
  • Strong Join Forces attitude with requisite Win Right integrity in all areas around Trade Compliance
