Healthcare Consultant, Life Sciences – Indianapolis Health (Remote)

Overview
Milliman's Indianapolis Health Practice is seeking a dynamic and experienced Healthcare Consultant to lead client projects, develop innovative strategies, and foster strong relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers. This role will focus on managing projects and client relationships, with a particular emphasis on oncology patient support and oncology access strategy and deliverables. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions in healthcare communications.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships
- With senior consultant support, lead the development and execution of oncology patient support and access strategies tailored to client needs
- Manage client projects, including scoping, planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality deliverables
- Help clients to identify and address challenges in oncology patient access, including barriers to care, affordability, and treatment adherence
- Support thought leadership by staying abreast of industry trends and developing innovative approaches to client challenges
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture
- Contribute to the growth of the practice by refining service offerings and identifying process improvement opportunities
Qualifications
- Expertise in oncology patient support and access, including understanding of reimbursement, affordability programs, patient advocacy and insurance types (Medicare, Commercial, Medicaid)
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations
- Exceptional project management capabilities, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results on time and within scope
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated business acumen and ability to identify opportunities for growth and innovation
- Proficiency in project management tools and data visualization software is a plus
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and building lasting client relationships
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, life sciences, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare consulting, pharmaceutical/biotech strategy, or patient access services, with a focus on oncology
Preferred
- Master’s degree, e.g., Master’s of Business Administration, Master’s of Public Health, or related program of study
The Team
The pharmaceutical consulting team is a group of 40+ individuals in the Indianapolis Health practice from varying backgrounds including actuaries, data analysts, pharmacists, and graphic designers. This group works primarily with pharmaceutical manufacturers by combining healthcare and payer knowledge, available data, analytic rigor, and industry experience to produce strategic and tactical insights for their clients.
Location
This role is based out of the Milliman office in Indianapolis, IN but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $109,000 - $222,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
