Job Summary:

The Wellness Coordinator promotes health and wellness initiatives by developing and conducting programs, events, and educational resources. They collaborate with internal departments, organize wellness activities, track program effectiveness, and ensure that wellness efforts align with business goals. Their role is essential in fostering a healthy work environment and improving employee well-being through targeted wellness strategies and initiatives.

General Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, evaluate, modify, coordinate, and implement employee wellness programs which meet the needs of the current workforce and the goals of the company. 
  • Communicate regularly with employees to support wellness programs via internal communication channels such as newsletters, brochures, emails and live trainings / roundtable discussions.  
  • Manage the health and wellness intranet and community platform in Paylocity to promote wellness activities and recognize employees for participating in wellness events.  
  • Assess the effectiveness of wellness programs and services. Take a data driven approach to build targeted wellness programs that will directly impact claims costs and benefit experience.  
  • Perform 1:1 counseling and health coaching to employees.  
  • Partner closely with the company’s insurance broker and other external stakeholders such as third party vendors and insurance carriers to ensure employees have full access to and knowledge of all wellness initiatives and perks.  
  • Design and facilitate wellness-related events, workshops, and seminars on topics such as stress management, nutrition, physical activity, and mental health to engage employees and promote healthy behaviors.
  • Work closely with internal departments to integrate wellness initiatives into broader organizational policies and practices, ensuring a cohesive approach to employee well-being.
  • Create and distribute wellness education materials through a variety of channels, including newsletters, bulletin boards, and intranet platforms, to keep employees informed and motivated.
  • Organize and coordinate wellness challenges, competitions, and campaigns aimed at encouraging participation and fostering a culture of healthy lifestyles within the organization.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on the effectiveness of wellness programs by analyzing data and gathering employee feedback to ensure continuous improvement of wellness initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Capable of adjusting wellness programs to meet the evolving needs of employees, ensuring relevance and ongoing engagement.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as health promotion, public health, or wellness management required
  • Certification in wellness coaching, health education, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing wellness programs in a corporate or organizational setting.
  • Must have a high degree of emotional intelligence and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices related to workplace wellness.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with benefits and wellness plans is required. Prior experience supporting a self-funded, employer sponsored insurance plan is required. 
  • Ability to utilize technology devices, software and application, previous experience with Microsoft Office Suites and basic computer skills required 
  • Reliable high speed home broadband internet connection with minimum 25 meg download and 10 meg upload speeds and ability to connect to home internet via ethernet cord is required if working remotely
  • Ability to travel, if required
