The Benefit Analyst works in a team environment and is responsible for providing day-to-day Health & Welfare benefits administration support for assigned clients, maintaining compliance with the plan’s provisions, and administrative policies. The Benefit Analyst will focus on creating and automating repeatable processes to minimize manual intervention.  This requires an intermediate level of understanding of the system database and web functionality and will need to utilize report writing tools to extract data for analysis.  This position will work closely with the Client Services Manager to prepare client meeting agendas and lead meetings.

What You Will Do

  • Provide customer service and answer complex benefit questions; troubleshoot to resolve issues in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Interact with internal and external organizations such as carriers, technical staff, call center and Client Services Manager.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of clients’ benefit plans and state and federal laws that affect the administration of benefits.
  • Process consolidated billing and self-pay premium billing for clients.
  • Interact directly with carriers to ensure data is processed correctly and timely.
  • Provide input to technology team for process improvement efforts to provide streamlined support to clients.
  • Lead open enrollment activities for clients; work with Project Manager on complex open enrollments.
  • Partner with Client Services Manager to take over new clients once they have been implemented.
  • Maintain client plan requirements documentation.
  • Responsible for ensuring data feed integrity for online enrollments and uploads for carriers and internal systems.

Who We Are Looking For

Required Experience and Skill

  • Minimum of 5 years of benefits administration experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in benefits administration technical solutions is a requirement.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; along with strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering high quality results on schedule.
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable working with and communicating large amounts of data findings.
  • Experience establishing and tracking client metrics and reporting on them regularly.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Health & Welfare benefits administration is a plus.
  • CEBS credential is a plus.
  • Degree in Business or Human Resources preferred.

Personal Qualifications

  • Works well within a team environment and takes ownership of personal work product.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and other general office equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Able to productively respond to change.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

Location

This role is based out of the Milliman office in Dallas, TX, but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $61,000 - $119,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
