About the role:
The Nuclear Company is hiring a Head of Technology, Nuclear OS who will lead our advancements of nuclear technologies and lead the development of our proprietary "Nuclear OS" platform. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced technology leader to build and drive the development and implementation of this cutting-edge platform. This role will report into the Chief Nuclear Officer.
Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy & Roadmap:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives and the evolving needs of the nuclear energy industry.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies with the potential to enhance safety, efficiency, and competitiveness in nuclear power generation.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the technology organization.
Research & Development:
- Oversee research and development programs in areas such as advanced reactor technologies, nuclear fuel cycle technologies, and digitalization of nuclear operations.
- Collaborate with universities, research institutions, and industry partners to advance technological capabilities.
- Secure funding for research and development projects through government grants, industry partnerships, and other sources.
Technology Development & Implementation:
- Lead the development and implementation of new technologies and solutions for the nuclear energy industry.
- Ensure the successful transfer of new technologies from research to commercial applications.
- Oversee the design, development, and testing of new products and services.
Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, scientists, and technologists.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Recruit and retain top talent in the field of nuclear technology.
Industry Engagement:
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all technology development and implementation activities comply with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Experience
- Experience in a highly regulated industry with a strong track record of successful technology development and implementation.
- Proven executive leadership experience in managing and leading high-performing engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of nuclear engineering principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Strong strategic planning and visioning skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Strong project management and budget management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $230,000 - $280,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
