Head of Performance UK

c£112,000 per annum + bonus

As the Head of Performance for the UK, you will be responsible on behalf of the Senior Director OS&M Operations for the management of Hitachi Rail’ obligations and any potential impacts or risks associated with the delivery of the Performance Regime IEP MSA & TSA and providing guidance and support to the HS2 works.

  • Delivering on contractual performance regime obligations for Train Service Agreements (TSA), for all major programmes and projects across the UK; this includes both Intercity Express Programme (IEP) Great Western Mainline (GWML) and East Coast Mainline (ECML) contracts.

  • Ensuring financial targets associated with the UK Vehicles Line of Business (LoB) are consistently achieved in line with budget and Mid-Term Management Plan (MTMP) objectives and, where they fall short, take appropriate remedial action to drive improvement.

  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) of key stakeholders in order to deliver on contractual obligations, ensure business growth and safeguard Hitachi Rail’s reputation.

  • Leading a team of performance managers within the UK, as well as the management and coordination of internal functions in order to develop the integrated performance improvement plans to deliver our projects and contractual obligations.

  • Support contract negotiations with external customers and suppliers and facilitating the review, drafting and negotiation of contracts including managing Variation Orders (VOs) and change requests from Operators and Owners.

  • Support timely submission of bids and proposals, including effective contract execution, whilst maintaining compliance with applicable Manufacturing Supply Agreements (MSA), Train Services Agreements (TSA) and legal requirements.

  • Exploiting opportunities across all projects and programmes to grow the UK business and expand gross margin.

  • Identify, evaluate and understand capability gaps within programmes and individual projects through research and operational analysis.

  • Ensuring adherence in all aspects of performance, to all compliance requirements of the customer, local and/ or regulatory agencies and organisation safety standards.

  • Ensure changing market and regulatory trends are incorporated into existing policies and processes.

  • Challenge the existing culture, current processes and procedures to increase asset utilisation and resilience.

  • Develop and maintain solid professional relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally with suppliers and customers.

  • Maintain a customer focused delivery.

  • Report progress, feed into performance reports and give verbal briefs and presentations as required.

  • Promote, support and comply with all health and safety practices in the workplace.

  • Demonstrate good wellbeing practices for your team to follow and encourage open conversations with your team about wellbeing.

  • Undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with Hitachi’s new business demands as required.

  • Any other duties as directed by the Senior Director OS&M Operations.
