Job Title: Head of New Product Innovation

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 per annum

Hours per week: 35

Location: This role can be worked 2 days a week from our Head Office in Leicester with the rest of the week worked from home, or candidate's can work remotely.

The successful applicant must have the pre-existing right to both live, and to work in the UK.

About the role

This exciting new role will be leading on the development of new products and services that are designed to deliver a commercial return to help support our ambitious growth plans as part of our current strategy. This role will play a key part in growing IOSH’s commercial income stream by identifying and developing new products and services to help meet our ambitions.

You will be commissioning market research to gain detailed insights into customer and channel needs, driving product planning and development activities, ensuring that all propositions are executed to scope, on schedule and to budget. This role will lead in the development and delivery of product solutions both long and short term, making sure they are delivered to agreed strategic, financial and non-financial performance indicators and business cased for internal approval appropriately.

What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will be experienced in working in a full lifecycle category/product management environment, with a proven track record of driving income, profitability, and value. You will be adept at forecasting and managing budgets, enabling you to develop new products and services from scratch, including detailed costings and business casing. Strong relationship-building skills are essential, as you'll be working with both internal and external stakeholders to influence and gain buy-in for strategic initiatives. Your ability to negotiate effectively and foster win-win outcomes will be key, as will your skill in generating commitment and enthusiasm to meet ambitious goals and objectives.

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge of developing robust business cases based on clear ROI and customer insight.
  • Digitally and technologically savvy
  • Extensive demonstrable experience of developing products and services from scratch, including in-depth costings and business casing.
  • Build and develop collaborative relationships through developing networks, building rapport and maintaining relationships.
  • Financial acumen
  • Experience of both commissioning and undertaking market research
  • Project management to include coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope, through identifying and meeting key milestones to achieve identified outcomes.
