Head of Integrations Technology

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Integrations to lead the development and management of our enterprise integration platform. Reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Applications & Technology, this Director-level role is critical for connecting our diverse ecosystem of SaaS applications (ERP, Billing, Payments, Procurement, etc.) and product data (usage and fulfillment) within our AWS cloud environment. You will be responsible for building a highly scalable, reliable, and secure integration platform, leveraging asynchronous event-driven architecture and near real-time data streaming. This includes leading a high-performing team of Architects, Backend Developers, and Platform Engineers. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the future of our enterprise architecture and enable seamless data flow across the organization. This position will be part of the CIO Organization.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the overall integration strategy, roadmap, and architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives and scalability for future growth.
- Platform Development & Management: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of our enterprise integration platform in AWS, adhering to best practices for security, reliability, and performance. This includes a strong focus on Kafka-based messaging and streaming technologies for asynchronous, event-driven integrations.
- API Management: Establish and manage our API strategy, encompassing API design, development, documentation, and security.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Integration Architects, Backend Developers, and Platform Engineers. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with business stakeholders, application owners, and product teams to understand integration requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with integration platform vendors and other relevant technology providers.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of the integration platform, adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the health and performance of the integration platform and identify areas for optimization.
- Cost Management: Manage the budget for the integration platform, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest integration technologies and trends, identifying opportunities to improve our platform and processes. Champion the use of AWS Integration Services, Workato, Camunda or similar tools for orchestration and automation.
Skills and experience needed for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in designing, developing, and managing enterprise integration platforms.
- Proven leadership experience (typically 7+ years) in managing technical teams and delivering successful outcomes.
- Deep understanding of integration patterns, architectures, and technologies, including API-led connectivity, microservices, event-driven architecture, and message queuing.
- Strong experience with Kafka and other streaming technologies for building asynchronous, event-driven, near real-time integrations.
- Experience with cloud-based integration platforms and AWS services (e.g., API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Kinesis).
- Strong experience with AWS Integration Services, Workato, Camunda or similar Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) tools for integration orchestration and automation.
- Strong understanding of security best practices for integration platforms, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption.
- Experience integrating with various SaaS applications (ERP, Billing, Payments, Procurement, etc.) and product systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into technology solutions.
- Experience managing budgets and vendors.
Where: This position is a remote/hybrid position located in the US.
The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation: The target base compensation for this position is $180,000 to $200,000 USD with an annual bonus plan in most US locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
