We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Global Transport, Freight, and Logistics to to oversee the end-to-end (E2E) delivery of goods from suppliers to manufacturing, distribution centers, and through to the last mile.  This role will ensure the efficient and effective movement of products across our global supply chain, optimizing logistics operations to meet ResMed’s strategic goals. 

  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Global Logistics Strategy: Develop and implement logistics strategies to support the global supply chain, ensuring alignment with business objectives. 

  • Transport and Freight Management: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of goods from suppliers to manufacturing, distribution centers, and last-mile delivery to customers. Ensure goods are delivered On Time and In Full (OTIF) across the global supply chain network.  Looking for experience in multiple modes of delivery including Ocean and air freight, Over the road and small parcel. 

  • Vendor Management: Liaise with vendors to negotiate optimal and cost-effective transport solutions. 

  • Budget Management: Develop and maintain annual budgets in partnership with the financial team. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Initiate investigations into process failures and implement corrective and preventive actions. Develop a strategy for continuous improvement, including productivity and efficiency enhancements. 

  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including safety, quality, and environmental requirements. 

  • Technology and Innovation: Leverage technology and digital solutions to enhance logistics operations and drive efficiencies. 

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a geographically-dispersed, high-performing logistics team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. 

  • Performance Tracking: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of logistics operations and identify areas for improvement. 

  • Market Trends: Stay updated on logistics market trends, regulations and cross-border policies that could influence the supply chain. Deep understanding of logistics and trade markets and trends that could influence the supply of goods across global regions. 

  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with 3PL providers, systems vendors and other key stakeholders to enhance logistics capabilities. Understand 3PL market, contract terms, and ability to negotiate solutions and favourable rates that deliver fit for purpose programs and lower overall cost to serve. 

  • Health and Safety: Champion health and safety standards across all logistics and transportation operations. 

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with manufacturing and distribution teams to ensure seamless integration of logistics processes, optimizing production schedules and inventory levels for timely delivery to the last mile in global markets.  Coordinate with the supply team for forecast/demand planning and interact with distribution operations teams for the transport of products in the region through to the last mile of customers. 

  • Last Mile Delivery: Oversee last-mile delivery operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. 

  • Cross-Border Policies: Knowledge of cross-border policies and trade regulations. 

 

 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred, or: 

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a proven track record of success in a global organization. 

  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. 

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.   

  • Logistics Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of logistics processes, including procurement, manufacturing, distribution, and last-mile delivery. 

  • Global Trade Knowledge: Knowledge in compliance and regulatory aspects, including international trade regulations, import/export compliance, and their impact on global logistics. 

  • Technology Proficiency: Deep comprehension of 3PL providers, logistics software, and technology solutions, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and ERP systems. Experience of automation and digitization. 

  • Transformation Knowledge: Experienced with change management cycle approaches and guiding teams through transformation and continuous improvement development 

  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. 

  • Industry Expertise: Experience in working with large-scale logistics operations in fast-moving goods industries such as food and beverage, retail, or consumer goods.

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills. 

 

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is: 

$163,000 - $243,000
