BASIC FUNCTION:
This role is responsible for leading our Agribusiness team and their respective portfolio(s) for a specific set of industries. One of the priorities of this role is to lead their team through the creation and execution of business development plans to support existing customers and promote profitable growth. This position supports the achievement of profitability, growth and credit risk goals for the division through day-to-day management of team members and individual account relationships.
Some of this leaders main priorities will be to collaborate with respective leadership and team members on (i) developing and guiding the direction of our Agribusiness portfolio; (ii) supporting the marketing plans designed to capitalize on opportunities within designated teams; (iii) guide and participate in the structuring, pricing and negotiations of banking solutions; (iv) monitor credit trends and address challenged banking relationships; and (v) maintain an ongoing interactive partnership with Underwriting and Operations (Servicing) teams .
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Works with the Head of Agribusiness and the Executive Head of Corporate Lending to identify market opportunities and develop a Go To Market (GTM) strategy for the Agribusiness portfolio. Evaluates economic conditions and the impact on the businesses in the industries covered by the team. Proactively and strategically identifies opportunities to provide value to customers and prospects in new innovative ways within the Associations risk appetite and profitability goals. Leads and collaborates cross-functionally to execute on value delivery.
Working with the Head of Agribusiness and Executive Head of Corporate Lending and other teams to develop strategies for cross-selling treasury, derivative, leasing products, together with other value add solutions offered by the Association. Incorporate said strategies into business plans for the team.
Maintains expertise in assigned market segment, keeping abreast of industry trends and of the competitive environment.
Guides the team through the development and implementation of a GTM strategy within target market segments and execution of the team’s business development plans.
Provides guidance on product structuring and pricing. Makes decisions on loans and terms within own lending limits. Sponsors credit recommendations above own lending limits.
Foster an integrated relationship with Capital Markets/Corporate Lending to promote the sharing of market intelligence, development of cutting-edge products and achievement of superior structuring and syndication results. Team with Capital Markets to build and maintain healthy relationships with our Farm Credit, institutional and other banking partners.
Works with the Head of Agribusiness, underwriting leadership credit management in the development of strategies to address adverse credit environments.
Follows current portfolio managed by the team to ensure ongoing compliance with covenant compliance and reporting. Verifies that all required reporting (for example, the Credit Watch List) is completed as required.
Serve on standing or temporary committees, projects and initiatives as requested.
May manage a portfolio of accounts (functioning as the Relationship Manager).
Provides functional guidance to Underwriting and Servicing Specialists on policies, procedures, and other credit matters.
Safely and professionally operate AAC vehicles. Maintain vehicle properly.
Performs other functions assigned.
LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:
Supervises Relationship Managers/Lenders; makes independent decisions; works under administrative direction of the Head of Agribusiness and Executive Head of Corporate Lending and the HOA.
INDUSTRY SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT(S):
(FOOD AND WINE):
- Responsible for market segment and financing needs up to $85MM
TYPICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
·Bachelors’ degree with emphasis on finance, business administration, economics, or equivalent major, is required.
·Ten (10) years of progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience is required.
·7 years leadership experience
·Proven experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring teams in a business development environment.
·Valid State issued driving license and clean driving record is required.
·Demonstrated credit and analytical skills; working knowledge of agricultural lending principles and practices typical for middle/large market segment and association and FCS operating policies and procedures is required.
·Knowledge of banking regulations, FCA regulations, association and district policies and procedures is required.
·Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal and analytical skills are required.
·Previous experience using PC, word processing, and electronic spreadsheet software is required.
·Must be proficient in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
·Desire and ability to travel, as required by the position, up to 50% domestic.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. The employee will be sitting for extended periods and accomplishing work at a desk and a computer for an extended period. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey ideas and work with a team. The ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in the performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds is required. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and evening work. Travel required.
PAY RANGE:
$250.000.00 - $350,000.00 Annual
This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
PART-TIME REMOTE/HYBRID: These employees will work partly remote and partly onsite. Part-time remote employees will work with their managers to determine when and how often they are needed onsite.All hiring is contingent on eligibility to work in the United States.
