The Grants and Contracts Research Administrator II is responsible for independently supporting investigators in the Center for Experimental Neurotherapeutics (CENT)  through the entire proposal submission process; administration of a large, high dollar and varied portfolio of sponsored awards that may include multiple faculty and locations. Management of competing priorities while providing excellence in customer service to internal and external customers; ensuring activity records are accurate, appropriately organized and recorded in a timely manner; independently negotiating sponsored agreements and contracts; serving as a training resource for faculty and staff at all levels; identification and dissemination of potential funding sources for faculty constituency; development of documentation of protocols, templates, and additional resources; read; interpret; disseminate and or apply federal and other sponsor guidelines and regulatory documents.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support/coordinate management of grants and sponsored programs (e.g., preparation and review of proposal documents including budget, monitoring of subawards, award lifecycle management) more independently.
  • Read, interpret, disseminate and apply federal and other sponsor guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements to support investigators and other relevant teams.
  • Coordinate with members from research teams, sponsor institutions and other teams to facilitate standard issue resolution, and escalate as needed.
  • Manage negotiation of standard terms and conditions associated with basic non-industrial sponsored research agreements to ensure consistency with institutional policies.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives within the team through suggestions and executing assigned tasks.
  • Contribute to the development, preparation, revision, and finalization of project budgets and providing budget justifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum Requirement: 2+ years of experience in financial administration processes as applicable to grants and sponsored programs.
  • Experience in relevant regulations as applicable to grants and sponsored programs.
  • Experience with industry-sponsored contracts and budgets preferred.
  • Some experience coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $65,520 - $114,400 per year for the role of Grants and Contracts Research Administrator II.
