GIS System Architect

What you will be doing:
Develop GIS system architecture diagrams and provide insight to clients on best practice enterprise GIS system design.
Work independently and as a member of a multi-functional, multi-disciplinary team to design and build dynamic front- and back-end GIS applications.
Recommend potential solutions to clients.
Drive end user satisfaction through the integration of interactive maps and geospatial analytics across desktop and mobile web interfaces.
Write well-designed, testable code for custom applications, reports, and data visualizations.
Develop solutions to complex problems in creative and effective ways by integrating the latest web mapping APIs, web mapping platforms, serverless technologies, and microservices strategies.
Produce clear documentation for applications and lead development of trainings for delivery to end users.
Collaborate across multiple teams and iterate on designs through daily use of version control standards.
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
5 years of experience designing, deploying, configuring, and managing enterprise GIS systems.
5 years of experience working with spatial databases (such as PostgreSQL with PostGIS).
5 years of experience with Agile software development and modern DevSecOps processes.
3 years of experience designing and provisioning cloud hosting for GIS solutions (specifically AWS or Azure).
3 years of experience with Python for data ETL and analysis.
US Citizen. Employment must be compliant with eligibility for Public Trust Clearance due to Government Contract.
What we’d like you to know:
Good understanding of Esri technology, Enterprise technology and GIS system architecture
Good understanding of approaches for managing diverse geospatial data formats and large volumes of data.
Ability to convey technical systems to various stakeholders and build consensus.
Understand concepts and applicable software tools and analytical methodologies for visualizing different types of spatial data.
Demonstrated experience showing strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills paired with a desire to take initiative.
