German-Speaking Automation Engineer (With Cloud Integration)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our team, focusing on the automation of testing for our Eclipse RCP application, which is also to be ported to the cloud. In this role, you will leverage Selenium, REST, and other automation tools to ensure the reliability and performance of our cloud-based solution. Your work will directly contribute to the quality assurance of our CI/CD pipeline, helping us deliver high-quality software faster and more reliably.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Automate functional and integration tests for the Eclipse RCP application now being redesigned, reworked and deployed in the cloud environments.

• Utilize Selenium for UI testing and REST for API testing to ensure comprehensive test coverage. There might be additional technologies once we progress.

• Work closely with development teams to align testing automation efforts with the CI/CD pipeline, trusting the strong testing line is essential.

• Integrate automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring continuous integration and continuous delivery workflows are fully supported.

• Collaborate with the DevOps team to implement test automation best practices that enhance build quality and system reliability.

• Conduct JUnit based unit and integration testing for build quality checks, ensuring consistent code quality and source code coverage.

• Maintain and extend the test automation framework to ensure its scalability and adaptability with evolving cloud architecture and application features.

• Troubleshoot and debug issues identified through automated tests, ensuring they are promptly addressed.

• Report test results, track defects, and assist in post-test analysis to improve future releases.

REQUIREMENTS

• Solid experience with test automation using Selenium, JUnit, and REST.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their integration with testing automation in cloud environments.

• Experience with Eclipse RCP (or similar desktop-based applications) and familiarity with cloud technologies in Azure.

• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as core Java  for creating robust test scripts.

• Experience with automated integration testing and performance testing in a cloud environment.

• Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools (JUnit, TestNG, RestAssured, Postman, etc.).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with development, DevOps, and product teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud-native applications and microservices architecture.

• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience with test management and reporting tools (JIRA, Jenkins, TestRail, etc.).

• Familiarity with performance testing and load testing tools.
