Full Stack Senior Software Engineer

Job summary

The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Senior Software Engineer to join us in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this role, you will contribute to one of our most important and innovative projects: Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console, which is the customer-facing platform for most of Red Hat’s managed cloud services. You will serve as a full stack engineer on a platform engineering team responsible for delivering key backend services and some UI features for the centralized Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Experience frameworks. As an engineer on the team, you’ll write code, review pull requests and fix bugs all within an agile environment. You’ll need to be someone who is smart, friendly, collaborative and one who loves to learn.

What you will bring:

  • Design and develop new features and prototypes while collaborating with other team members, including Full Stack Developers and User Experience Designers

  • Collaborate and innovate cross-functionally with other engineers and developers to deliver creative solutions for console.redhat.com, including product and infrastructure enhancements

  • Interface with Product Management to understand new features and ensure alignment during feature development

  • Solve challenging product and infrastructure problems that enable our documentation to grow and scale with our business

  • Use agile software development methodologies to quickly adapt to changes in requirements

  • Work with the Quality Engineering (QE) team to ensure that features are tested correctly

Required skills

  • 4+ years of experience in software development or engineering

  • 1+ years of experience programming with Javascript and at least one UI framework; React is preferred

  • Ability to work Hybrid in Raleigh NC

  • 3+ years of experience programming with Python or Go

  • Enjoy working across the stack—on frontend, backend, or infrastructure—to solve complex problems and delight our users (you don’t need to be an expert in all of these, but it helps to be interested in learning about them)

  • Experience designing REST API interfaces

  • Passionate for building beautiful, intuitive user experiences

  • Comfortable with rapid iteration and fast delivery

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Experience with the following are considered a plus:

  • Linux containers

  • Microservices architectures

  • OpenShift by Red Hat

  • Open source software

The salary range for this position is $94,550.00 - $151,170.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
