The Foster Plus Project Coordinator will be part of a small team responsible for leading Foster Plus project’s work forward. This position leads day-to-day communications, administration, community engagement, and data functions; accountable to all members of the Foster Plus collaborative and the executive leaders and organizations therein; and for resource development, leveraging service user voice, advocacy, governance, visioning and strategy development to better the experience and outcomes for young people served in Therapeutic Foster Care across Oregon.
Essential duties include:
- Builds and maintains relationships with community partners.
- Maintains an accurate and current list of community partners and upcoming events.
- Organizes outreach and planning with community partners and coordinates upcoming events, including follow up as needed.
- Maintains and implements the Foster Plus Strategic Plan.
- Leads Foster Plus main meetings and all sub group meetings. These include Systems Change and Reform, Operations and Marketing, and Improving Services to Family and Youth.
- Maintains understanding of current implementation challenges and developing comprehensive solutions to address them.
- Communicates the objectives of Foster Plus to the community and potential partners, including sharing the Strategic Plan and other collateral.
- Facilitates ongoing communication between Foster Plus partners by hosting regular conference calls, in-person meetings, or coordinating regular email updates to ensure alignment of activity.
- Plans and manages logistics of and attends community events.
- Creates or manages creation of yearly summary reports of Foster Plus progress for Steering Committee, Partnership Board, and external audiences.
- Works with TFC Program Director to identify potential funding sources to support Foster Plus’s goals and priorities.
- Writes grants, as needed, or coordinates work of grant writer.
- Works with implementing agencies to provide information to support their grant applications.
- Tracks all Foster Plus funding, including allocated funds from partner organizations, data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Drives to meetings or other GOBHI locations as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
What is needed to succeed in this role:
- Three years’ work experience in project management, project coordination, and community outreach.
- Experience and understanding of the Oregon Department of Human Services programs, the foster care system, and/or non-profit organizations preferred.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with a cross-sectional range of stakeholders in the local or regional area, including senior executives.
- Presence to inspire confidence and passion in external audiences and to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Advanced project management skills.
- Interpersonal skills; works well with people at all levels of the organization.
- Flexibility and the ability to work autonomously as well as take directions as needed.
- Commitment to the collective impact concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Effective listening skills.
- Handles highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Resourceful, able to network and connect people to appropriate resources.
- Technology savvy, proficiency using MS software products, with a high level proficiency in Excel.
- Strong planning and organizational skills and follows through.
- Effective presentation skills, including public speaking and meeting facilitation.
- Experience fundraising or grant writing.
- Maintains good driving record and required vehicle insurance.
- Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, or a combination of education and experience required.
