Financial Operations Principal

Leidos’ Defense Systems Sector is looking for a Financial Operations Principal who will serve as The Defense Systems Sector (DSS) Optimization Champion and be recognized as a known change agent and transformation SME for the Sector. This is a critical role that will report directly to the Vice President, Integration and Manufacturing CFO and has responsibility for the Sector's strategic transformational initiatives.
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and leading key optimization activities, developing schedules, closure plans and KPIs while quantifying cost impacts/savings and presenting status at the monthly MBRs to the Sector leadership team. You will also lead the Facilities Working Group providing facility footprint recommendations working closely with Real Estate and Workplace Solutions (RE&WS), DSS Functional organizations and Business Area leadership focusing on the Sector portfolio multi-year roadmap aligning with the strategic needs of the business, with a current emphasis on SCIF and Manufacturing needs.
You will serve as the key point of contact and expert for inventory management, identifying industry best practices/policies as part of the Defense Systems growing multi-site Manufacturing Segment while managing DSS Common Inventory, E&O Inventory (Excess and Obsolete) driving key metrics to align with site and Business Area portfolio needs. You will also be identifying and driving additional projects within the Sector to have a positive impact on overall performance by leading financial automation initiatives and/or data optimization to drive well informed decision making.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and a minimum of 12+ years of progressive responsibility in diverse finance roles, including accounting, program financial management, and financial planning and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of CAS, FAR, and GAAP.
- Experience in managing projects, project schedules and deliverables and closing on complex problems while building collaborative solutions with many functional stakeholders.
- A natural collaborator who works effectively across functional boundaries to drive and influence positive outcomes for the business.
- Strong leadership and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate to executive leadership,
- Strong knowledge of Leidos financial rate structures and expense to include but not limited to Facilities, Inventory management and accounting, Overhead Rate structures and Leidos Business Architecture.
- Takes responsibility for being part of solving complex problems as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic. Effective time management skills. Balances work and life needs but can put in the time as needed to meet deadlines.
