Field Service Technician, Nalco Water - Mining

The Nalco Water team of Ecolab is currently seeking a Field Service Technician to join its industry leading sales and service team. You’ll partner with Sales Representatives on executing service plans in strategic district accounts and providing customers with problem solving support within the Mining industry.  You’ll also assist District Sales Representatives with launching new applications in current customer accounts and in transitioning competitively-held accounts to Nalco Water.

What You Will Do:

  • Calibrate, maintain and install chemical feed equipment and process monitoring equipment at a variety of customer accounts in the Mining industry
  • Execute chemistry tests, log and report data, and maintain product inventories at customer accounts
  • Assist Sales Representatives with start-ups of new applications in both existing customers and in new accounts
  • Maintain strong customer relationships, provide technical reports and support to customers; identify and resolve customer challenges, escalating as required

Territory/Location Information: 

  • Position will support customers in the Tumbler Ridge, BC area with travel throughout the region
  • Some overnight travel may be required for training/meetings

Training programs are held in the field and at Ecolab’s Nalco Water Training Centre in Naperville, IL.  Based on your skill level and experience, topics covered may include technology, product, service, business and industry acumen, direct coaching and mentoring, sales management and leadership, training and certifications.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Post secondary diploma or degree
  • Related industrial/mechanical/customer support experience or mining industry experience
  • Good computer skills and experience with MS Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess a valid Driver's License and acceptable Driving Record
  • Able to travel to the US for training/meetings
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary degree or diploma in chemistry, chemical engineering or related field  
  • Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experience
  • Working knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination may be required based on client site requirements

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

Base salary range is $80000 – $88000. This position has base salary and is eligible for overtime, company vehicle and additional benefits.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range is based on full-time 40 hours per week. Ecolab in good faith anticipates it will pay within the posted range. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the compensation for a potential new employee such as education, training, experience, work location, travel (if required), etc.
