Nexcelom, a division of Revvity, focuses on image cytometry products for cell analysis in life science and biomedical research. Products range from cell viability counters (Cellometer & Cellaca) to high throughput microwell image cytometry workstations (Celigo), used in thousands of research laboratories in academic institutes and biotech companies. The company contributes to the life science industry through innovation and expertise in the science of cell counting.
Seeking a well-trained scientist with strong technical skills to join our Nexcelom team at Revvity. The ideal candidate will collaborate with sales representatives, conduct product demonstrations and technology seminars, install instruments, and provide in-field technical support and customer service. This role requires a hands-on approach to assist customers with experiment setup, coupled with the drive and ability to network, identify prospects, and promote Nexcelom technology and products. The successful applicant will have an advanced degree in life sciences or a related field, excellent communication skills, and the flexibility to travel as needed.
The territory covered is the Southwestern US. This Field Application Scientist will be responsible for supporting the Nexcelom product lines, which include Cellometer, Cellaca, & Celigo.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct product demonstrations at customer sites and remotely.
- Perform instrument installation and train customers remotely and at customer sites.
- Present Nexcelom technology and applications in various scientific seminars and conferences.
- Collaborate with sales rep for local prospecting activities.
- Collaborate with sales reps and customers to resolve product issues.
- Participate in national and regional trade show activities.
- Collect feedback from the field and document info to improve Nexcelom products.
- Generate technical demonstration reports as well as customer interaction memos.
- Keep good record of technical reports and customer interaction information.
- Attend company-organized internal and external technical trainings, sales skill trainings, and career development trainings.
- The list of duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be substituted, assigned, or reassigned by the FAS Manager.
Territory Covered
- This listing is for a Field Application Scientist to cover the Southwestern United States.
- The candidate would ideally be based in a large city in the Southwest.
- Must possess a current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Travel is approximately 70%.
- Travel to other states as needed for business development and team-building activities.
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in biology or life sciences discipline.
- Four years of lab experience with cell biology, cell culture, and cell-based assay development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional problem solver.
- Research experience in cell biology, immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field.
- Three or more years’ experience as a field application scientist or in a customer-facing role.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and be able to express information in a clear and organized manner relevant to the intended audience.
- Expertise in fluorescent chemistry, protein chemistry, as well as hand-on experience with fluorescence microscopy and flow-cytometry technology.
- Computer software experience of image and data analysis, and experimental results interpretation, with the aptitude to learn new software tools and retain technical information.
- Working experience in biological labs, biological material, and their safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and team-oriented, with a results-driven approach to achieving goals.
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $94,500 - 118,000/annual. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
