The Executive Director of Global HR Technology is responsible for the creation and execution of our strategic HR Technology roadmap – leveraging Workday, other people systems and available tools to transform the way we work, enable scalability of compliant operations, and create exceptional experiences for our people. In addition to managing an extensive portfolio of short-and long-term HR technology projects, this role also drives our continuous-improvement initiatives across global HR processes and workflows, utilizing leading technologies including robotic process automation (RPA, AI). The Executive Director of Global HR Technology works to understand desired business outcomes and collaborates extensively with stakeholders in HR, across other functions (e.g., Finance, IT and Compliance) and vendors to deliver fit-for-purpose and agile solutions. The successful candidate will be an innovative thinker, effective change agent, exceptional executor, and a dynamic leader.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and vision to build and execute a roadmap of integrated HR technology and process solutions across the globe. Serve as lead of our cross-functional HR Technology Council.
Lead and manage full lifecycle of HR technology projects, including creation of business cases, resource planning, development of project plans, and delivering results within targeted timeframes and within budget. Ensure robust testing plans to ensure successful implementation.
Proactively partner with an extensive community of stakeholders to understand business needs and propose innovative solutions. Continuously evaluate and improve/streamline employee-facing systems, tools, and processes to ensure RGA’s HR systems and processes enable a remarkable employee experience.
Understand global and local cultural, security, business and labor requirements that impact systems and process design, and ensure recommendations consider these factors. Drive global alignment and consistency while effectively balancing regional and local considerations.
Understand the employee life cycle across all HR functions (payroll, benefits, talent management, talent acquisition), and effectively manage technical and functional requirements of such processes. Stay apprised of security, legislative/regulatory compliance aspects (GDPR, etc.) and ensure HR systems and processes meet those standards.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators and internal service level agreements (SLAs) to optimize the utilization of our HR technology platform and user experience.
Effectively and proactively manage full suite of HR technology vendor relationships, including contracts, statements of work and SLAs. Ensure our vendors and their services support our long-term technology roadmap and HR strategy.
Lead our continuous improvement and automation efforts throughout the employee lifecycle. Manage the HR continuous improvement pipeline, working with Business Empowerment COE to deploy solutions aligned with RGA strategy and leading practice. Establish citizen development automation capabilities and continuous improvement solutions that meet the highest quality standards.
Lead the planning and deployment of Workday releases, including the scheduling of key activities and communication of implications to stakeholders.
Ensure HR technology users (HR, managers, employees) receive effective training and guidance related to tools and processes. Employ creative and easy-to-understand methods to disseminate information to enable intuitive navigation.
Stay abreast of HR technology leading practices, make recommendations and champion new functionality and tools to deliver a best-in class technology ecosystem. Actively seek out external connections to keep HCM and continuous improvement knowledge current.
Lead, develop, and motivate team members. Foster an inclusive, equitable and dynamic work environment that provides career growth and development opportunities. Perform management duties including, but not limited to, hiring, training, evaluating, and coaching.
Candidate Requisites
Education & Experience
15+ years of progressively increasing responsibility experience in HRIS management
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
Advanced educational degree in Information Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is preferred
Extensive design and implementation experience with Workday HCM – including Core HR, Performance & Development, Recruit and Advanced Compensation
Experience managing a robust HR Technology portfolio, including leading cross-functional global projects and teams
Project management experience
Six Sigma or Lean certifications is a preferred asset
Experience with automation capabilities is highly desired
Skills & Abilities
Extensive experience planning and implementing HCM solutions on a global scale and in a matrix organization. Strong understanding of best practices in access, security, and testing protocols
Demonstrated strategic initiative; ability to develop a long-term technology roadmap based on business and HR requirements
Proven ability to manage a comprehensive portfolio of work, plan resource needs, and effectively delegate
Experience successfully integrating and optimizing Workday with other systems (such as ADP)
Deep understanding of employee life cycle and underlying HR processes. Ability to champion continuous improvement mindset and use of automation (RPA, AI) and other process improvement technologies
Strong working knowledge and understanding of data requirements and related privacy laws across the globe
Ability to understand and identify business needs; propose innovative solutions with an eye on employee experience
Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to identify root causes of issues and recommend resolution for both immediate and long-term
Effective driver of change at all levels of the organization
Dynamic team leader with experience building and developing high performing teams through effective recruiting, training, development, and succession planning.
Working knowledge of best-in-class HR programs, tools, and practices. Natural curiosity for continuous learning to stay current with HR technology developments and penchant for exploring the “art of the possible”
Highly advanced oral and written communication skills, as well as persuasion and negotiation skills
Proven experience managing confidential and sensitive information with the ability to exercise discretion and show good judgement; honesty, integrity and trust-building behaviors in all dealings is essential

Compensation Range: $123,500 - $184,050 Annual

Compensation Range:
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
