Engineering Manager - Boundary

About the Role
You will build and manage a high performing full stack team of engineers responsible for core product functionality across Boundary Enterprise self-managed, HCP Boundary (cloud) and Boundary Community Edition. Being a young product, Boundary’s development area is broad and deep. You will drive delivery of customer feature requests to unblock their onboarding and facilitate critical enterprise deals, and you will expand key differentiators such as transparent sessions. We work in a collaborative environment so you will work closely with Design, Product and other cross-functional partners. The majority of our tools and integrations are written in Golang and JavaScript (Ember).

What you’ll do…
- Manage and coach a team of product software engineers to high performance
- Support the career growth for individuals on a team building and delivering Boundary products to a fast-growing customer base
- Hire and grow a diverse team
- Assist product management and design in your capacity as an engineering leader
- Collaborate across functions and stakeholders for detailed roadmap planning
- Guide architecture and other technical decision making
- Ensure high quality products through thoughtful testing and release practices
- Own the full lifecycle of feature development from design through testing, release and operations
What you’ll need…
- 2 years of software engineering management experience
- You have experience with managing both development and operational workstreams
- You’ve managed and/or participated in an on call rotation
- You have experience collaborating with a remote distributed team
What’s nice to have…
- You have managed a full stack team (frontend and backend engineers)
- You have exposure to systems software and services written in Go and Javascript
- You have expertise in one or more of the major public clouds
- You have experience driving observability, reliability, and availability for large-scale distributed systems
- You have a background in leading engineering teams for large-scale enterprise platforms

Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.
The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:$195,500—$230,000 USDThe base pay range for this role in Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, New York (excluding NYC), Washington D.C., or California (excluding SF Bay Area) is:$179,200—$210,800 USDThe base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro) and Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:$162,900—$191,650 USD ApplyJob Profile
