Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer and Software Development Lead, you will be responsible for developing high-quality software solutions while also leading a team of engineers. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Engineers to translate functional requirements into robust, scalable, and supportable solutions. Your leadership will extend beyond technical contributions, fostering the growth of engineers, managing workloads, and guiding your team toward successful project completion.
•    Technical Leadership: Lead architectural and design discussions and provide direction for the team, ensuring adherence to best practices for coding, testing, and deployment.
•    Development Lifecycle: Participate in the full development lifecycle, from planning to deployment, while overseeing and driving the development efforts of your team.
•    Troubleshooting and Production Support: Lead the team in troubleshooting issues and resolving critical production incidents efficiently while maintaining system uptime and reliability.
•    Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy solutions that meet customer needs.
•    Team Management: Provide leadership, align your team around shared goals, and manage team dynamics to ensure productivity and a positive team culture.
 

Essential Job Responsibilities


•    Technical Expertise: Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or C++. A strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
•    Development Practices: Knowledge of full software development lifecycle practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and deployment.
•    Fast Learner & Adaptability: A strong ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, tools, and work environments.
•    Agile Experience: Experience with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and familiarity with Agile tracking and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).
•    Leadership Experience: 2+ years of leadership or team lead experience, including guiding junior engineers and fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
•    Problem-Solving Skills: Strong logical thinking, problem-solving, and debugging skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
 

Minimum Qualifications

•    15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.

•    Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Security clearance.
•    Team Leadership & Development: Lead, motivate, and support your team in achieving their goals. Provide regular feedback and conduct performance reviews, ensuring the team’s continuous improvement and professional development.
•    Project Ownership: Take ownership of key engineering initiatives, ensuring the team delivers high-quality solutions on time and according to project specifications.
•    Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and technical deliverables.
•    Conflict Resolution: Mediate conflicts and facilitate problem resolution within the team, fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.
•    Operational Excellence: Own and promote engineering best practices, ensuring that your team follows standard procedures and continuously improves workflow efficiencies.
 

Preferred Requirements

•    System Design & Architecture: Understanding of system architecture, including experience with distributed systems and large-scale application design.
•    Web & Application Frameworks: Proficiency with web-based runtime environments like NodeJS and frameworks such as AngularJS and ReactJS.
•    Containerization & Orchestration: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration platforms.
•    Database Knowledge: Expertise in relational and NoSQL/Graph databases, including designing and developing efficient data models.
•    Linux Environment: Strong experience working in a Linux-based development environment.
•    Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Confluence, Jira, Git, and other source control and collaboration platforms.
•    Cloud & DevOps Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
