Engineer III - Cloud SDET (Remote)

USA CA Remote, United States

As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn’t changed — we’re here to stop breaches, and we’ve redefined modern security with the world’s most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day. We have 3.44 PB of RAM deployed across our fleet of C* servers - and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We’re also a mission-driven company. We cultivate a culture that gives every CrowdStriker both the flexibility and autonomy to own their careers. We’re always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.

About the Role:

CrowdStrike is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test III (SDET) to join the Cloud Security Workload Protection Team. Our new colleague will be responsible for developing automation and building tools that ensure the quality, reliability, and accuracy of a globally distributed, fault-tolerant, and highly scalable cloud ecosystem using Golang. Prior experience with Golang is not required but will be helpful.

CrowdStrike is a computer security company. We do not require candidates for this role to have prior security industry experience. We will mentor and train in security topics as needed. You should have a strong interest in CrowdStrike’s mission and a willingness to engage with the needs of our product teams and customers.

About the Team:

You’ll be joining the team responsible for building products to help secure cloud-native and containerized workloads. Workload protection places security controls at the level of individual application workloads. It enables organizations to identify and remediate vulnerabilities across the application lifecycle, enforcing compliance and implementing security configuration and best practices across containers, Kubernetes, and any workload. We also provide security tools and mechanisms into the earliest phases of the application development process. Vulnerable code is identified as it is developed rather than in the testing phase, which reduces costs and results in more secure apps.

  • Plan, design, develop, verify, deploy, and maintain automated test suites.

  • Increase our automated test coverage, and improve our release quality and velocity.

  • Analyze product, system, and feature designs for flaws and improvements.

  • Improve, maintain, and automate our cloud infrastructure on AWS.

  • Validate and verify the integration of platform systems, services, data, and applications.

  • Validate and verify customer-facing features, end-to-end, across the product platform.

  • Leverage new open source solutions to build new tools that test things in new ways.

  • Be part of engineering efforts turning rapid prototypes into large-scale core services.

  • Brainstorm, define, and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams.

  • Python

  • OAuth

  • Experience with running services in Kubernetes.

  • Understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges

  • Understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies

  • Team player skills – we embrace collaborating as a team as much as possible.

  • A thorough understanding of engineering best practices from appropriate testing paradigms to effective peer code reviews and resilient architecture.

  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced, test-driven, collaborative and iterative programming environment.

  • The skills to  meet your commitments on time and produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
