We are seeking an Engineer, Environmental Health and Safety to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the development of safety programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. You will be responsible for facility inspections and accident investigations. Be active on the production floor to motivate and guide employees on safety practices for Fender’s safety culture. Among other duties, you will also administer training programs and develop safety record-keeping systems across the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure compliance with DOT, CAL-OSHA, AQMD, and EPA regulations.
- Lead and assist in external inspections from regulatory agencies.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and safety audits.
- Maintain environmental permits and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Develop safety-related communications and training programs.
- Advise operations managers on Job Hazard Analysis, Risk Assessment, and Incident Investigation.
- Lead cross-functional teams for EHS issue resolution and new equipment approval.
- Investigate incidents to determine root causes and mitigate risks.
- Manage record-keeping systems, including TRIR and injury trends.
- Oversee workers’ compensation claims from reporting to closure.
- Conduct and document facility safety and health inspections.
- Develop and implement behavioral-based safety initiatives.
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of EHS programs, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting job safety analysis and implementing behavioral-based safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail with proficiency in data reporting and analysis.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and influencing skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in spreadsheet preparation.
- Professional EHS certifications (ASP, CSP, CIH) preferred.

If this is a remote position, the pay scale disclosed herein may be adjusted further based upon the applicable geographic differential associated with the location from which the successful candidate will work. Please note that it is not typical for a Fender employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role – especially as a new hire – and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 per year.
