Job Description:

Position Description:

This role is responsible for the control systems, electro-mechanical installation and service of Pneumatic Scale Angelus products. This includes providing service and troubleshooting support on machinery in the field. Responsible for the installation and service of company products including providing service and troubleshooting support of packaging machinery for wet and dry filling, capping, can seaming, labeling, and centrifugation applications.

Key Responsibilities/Complexities:

  • Provide support in troubleshooting problems with customer equipment either onsite or via phone or other technology.
  • As a team, complete onsite new machine installations; perform routine and/or emergency electro-mechanical service.
    • Installation activities consist of but are not limited to:
      • Controls programming and modification
      • Coordination of layout at customer site including cable runs/pulls
      • Termination of cables and wiring
      • Installation and configuration of system software
      • Mechanical mounting of sensors or other devices
      • System tuning and optimization.
      • Integrate line control when needed.
  • Train customer operations and maintenance personnel with emphasis on safe operation.
  • Provide follow-up documentation, such as installation and service records and trip reports/expenses, in a timely manner.
  • Assist with detecting defective/faulty materials or equipment; report unusual conditions to team leaders.
  • Establish and build positive working relationships with our internal and external customers.
  • Provide leadership and coaching of less experienced team members with installation, service repair and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe fashion.
  • Ability to work on weekends or as a customer schedule dictates.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally when required. Must have or are able to obtain a passport.
  • When not dispatched to a customer site, provide support to customers through the technical support team in a remote manner.
  • When requested, assist PSA plant with assembly and FAT support.

Physical Demands: 

  • Frequent sitting, standing; kneeling, crouching and crawling.
  • Frequent walking, climbing and balancing.
  • Lift or move up to 15 pounds regularly; frequently lift or move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum associate degree (A.A./A.S) or equivalent from 2 year college or technical school, or equivalent industry work experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced PC, PLC, HMI, servo and networking skills.
    • Rockwell, Siemens, Bosch Rexroth, and B&R controls experience. (Rockwell is preferred)
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of the function of various electrical components, such as transformers, relays, PLCs and motor drives
  • Proficient use of power tools, and electronic test/calibration equipment
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 80%

The approximate pay range for this position is $60,720-$85,008 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position .
