Brown and Caldwell (BC) is seeking a Process Engineer to support our growing Drinking Water practice. This opportunity is focused on solutions for tackling drinking water treatment challenges within our Drinking Water practice. Remote work is allowed although the preference would be for the selected candidate to be located within commuting distance to one of our offices.
Detailed Description:
- Work hand in hand with clients and project delivery teams nationwide, to develop unique solutions that protect public health.
- Manage and execute PFAS-related water treatment projects, including process selection and preliminary design.
- Develop into a technical leader on PFAS based water treatment projects.
- Coordinate, advise, and conduct testing of equipment including established and novel treatment technologies.
- Collaborate with BC research and development on applicable technologies and projects.
- Read, summarize, and prepare technical reports regarding water quality and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate treatment approaches for water quality parameters, including constituents of emerging concern.
- Prepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetings.
- Assist with and serve as a technical lead for business development pursuits.
- Assist in developing and preparing process design drawings, specifications, calculations, plans, models, and other technical deliverables for a variety of drinking water projects.
- Participate in professional organizations.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental, etc.).
- Minimum of 5 years (advanced degrees count as 2 years) of progressively increasing responsibility in the drinking industry including familiarity with the following: PFAS treatment, master planning, modeling, advanced data analysis, and water treatment plant / advanced treatment planning or design.
- Experience with full-scale or pilot plants with unit processes such as GAC system evaluation and design, Ion Exchange system evaluation and design, high-pressure membrane systems, bench and pilot testing.
- Desire to develop strong project management or project engineer skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports.
Preferred Qualification(s):
- PE License.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A: $97,000 - $132,000
Location B: $106,000 - $145,000
Location C: $116,000 - $158,000
