The Director, Sales Strategy and Operations will serve as the day-to-day manager of Voleon’s fundraising and client relationship management work. The successful candidate will leverage their sales and marketing expertise, world class operational execution, and data-driven business judgment to improve Voleon’s existing client relationships and build new partnerships.  Reporting to the Global Head of Investor Relations and Business Development, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership including the CEO, COO, and other key cross functional stakeholders on high priority commercial initiatives. This role is a means to make a difference: the sales, marketing, and relationship management work you lead will directly enhance Voleon’s leading position in the world of quantitative finance.

Responsibilities

  • Team Management:
  • Co-manage Voleon’s Investor Relations and Client Research teams in partnership with the Global Head of Investor Relations and Business Development.
  • Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance sales and relationship management effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement action plans to develop star performers and support underperforming team members.
  • Foster a results-driven and collaborative team culture that aligns with the firm’s mission, values, and strategic goals.

  • Sales Strategy & Execution Oversight:
  • In partnership with the Global Head of Investor Relations and Business Development, set ambitious growth and client relationship goals.
  • Develop and implement structured sales and relationship management processes and performance metrics.
  • Monitor progress vs performance metrics and goals and enforce accountability
  • Work with senior leadership to refine go-to-market strategies and improve overall business development efforts.

  • Operational & Cross-Functional Coordination:
  • Oversee CRM management, ensuring accurate tracking of sales activity, pipeline development, and reporting.
  • Oversee coordination between Investor Relations and Client Research to align content generation with commercial priorities.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Strategy, and other operational teams to support cross functional projects and requests.

  • Sales and Relationship Coverage Analysis:
  • Analyze sales data and provide actionable insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Develop regular sales and investor relations performance reports, identifying trends, challenges, and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in sales/marketing roles within financial services or at a company serving the financial industry.
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams.
  • Strong understanding of alternative investment products, capital markets, portfolio management, and other investment concepts.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and process management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales management and analytics tools.
  • Eagerness to work with diverse teams.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • MBA and CFA (or comparable certifications) appreciated but not required.
The base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000 in the location(s) of this posting. Individual salaries are determined through a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Base salary does not include other forms of total compensation such as bonus compensation and other benefits. Our benefits package includes medical, dental and vision coverage, life and AD&D insurance, 20 days of paid time off, 9 sick days, and a 401(k) plan with a company match.
