Summary of Position

This position will report to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Operations and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all revenue cycle activities with a goal of maximizing reimbursement and key performance metrics, in a cost-effective manner that follows federal, state and payer-specific billing requirements.

This individual will work in conjunction with the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Operations and lead day-to-day organizational needs, including serving as the liaison across Account Management, Operations, Sales, IT, Finance, Product, Payer Management, Member Experience, and Clinical departments in support of collections. This position will champion development of lean processes to ensure best in-class, client focused revenue cycle operations with metric driven performance-based accountability.

This individual will also assist various internal teams with the initial setup and ongoing support of payers in relation to integration and revenue. This will include identifying process improvement opportunities and representing the team’s needs and objectives to various Teladoc Health departments.

This role will require expert knowledge of healthcare revenue between multiple payers and providers.  This will include all aspects of the revenue cycle including eligibility, benefit plan design / setup, billing, claim adjudication, and reconciliation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with other internal and external departments
  • Implement initiatives and system efficiencies to optimize services
  • Implement programs, projects or procedures that may reduce risk, improve efficiency, decrease denials, increase cash collections, reduce accounts receivable, and motivate staff
  • Develop and implement performance improvement initiatives for all payers
  • Manage and lead teams to ensure departmental goals, key performance indicators, and objectives are met
  • Identify and resolve barriers in achieving operational excellence
  • Accountable for all transactions processed through patient accounting software
  • Coordinates with information technology in development, evaluation, and maintenance of information systems for electronic billings, remittances, payer reimbursement, payer confirmation of claims, denial management, corporate compliance, collections, and provide performance reporting
  • Work closely with various internal departments, specifically Payer Management, to maximize revenue and support the retention of clients and members by minimizing payer issues.
  • Develop and implement staff performance and quality standards
  • Monitor overall department performance
  • Develop and implement department improvement plans
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications Expected for Position

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent years of experience
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management
  • 5+ years of client support experience preferred
  • Analyze trends using reporting and constant daily monitoring to diagnose issues with clients or payers
  • Develops and implements departmental procedures, standards, tools and techniques to effectively follow up on claims and maximize collections
  • Understanding of the Healthcare Insurance industry and the impact various departments have on one another

The base salary range for this position is $150,000.00-$160,000.00. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for performance bonus, RSU’s, and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2024. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
