Summary:
The (Sr.) Director, Business Development - C&GT, will lead business development and sales efforts in the Cell & Gene Therapy segment. This includes identifying, evaluating, and negotiating development and manufacturing contracts with plasmid, cell therapy, and gene therapy clients.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation of proposals, proposal revisions, and process change orders in collaboration with Business Operations.

  • Support global business development and sales strategy for AGC Biologics’ offerings by engaging with clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings to represent company capabilities, value propositions, and execution models.

  • Facilitate the sales process by collaborating with internal stakeholders to structure joint projects and partnerships, lead proposal development, and support sales teams in closing deals.

  • Maintain and manage sales pipeline data using CRM software, presenting regular progress reports to leadership.

  • Identify and close sales that enhance company visibility, growth, and profitability. Formulate strategies to increase revenue and market share.

  • Establish and maintain contact with prospective clients, ensuring effective communication of company capabilities.

  • Coordinate and lead client site visits, manage follow-up activities, and address client feedback.

  • Participate in developing a comprehensive regional marketing plan.

  • Build and sustain internal and external relationships to ensure timely identification, analysis, and pursuit of business opportunities.

  • Assist in negotiating Strategic Account Agreements, representing the company as needed.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with global site teams and the Business Development team.

  • Coordinate due diligence activities (technical, legal, financial) for specific business opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Ability to focus on mission-critical tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Highly organized, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple resources and tasks efficiently.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, adjusting messages for diverse audiences.

  • Approachable and attentive, with the ability to remain calm and positive in sensitive or urgent situations.

  • Willingness to travel to AGC Biologics sites and client locations globally.

Education/Experience:

  • 10+ years of proven success in Business Development/Sales, preferably in the CMO industry.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.

Compensation:

$164,400.00 - $266,750.00
